Rivetman1.0: I am a dumbass for promoting literacy and respect to the United States Marine Corps.

No, you're a dumbass for not figuring out you've walked into a classic Fark in-joke, and then when it's been pointed out to you, you've humorlessly doubled-down on your derp. What? Are you trying to be the next rotsky?

Wow, you are so smart
But one has to ponder why dates like that could be highly misrepresentative for really obvious reasons to such a God among farkers  as yourself with your low number..

Look. Years ago, some jackhole came into this site claiming to be important because he was a member of the "Marine Core", and was immediately slapped down so hard by the real veterans on this site that he was never heard from again. I'd find the thread if I weren't on mobile. Ever since then it's been a running gag around here to use that spelling. Farkers do things like that sometimes. Its no thing. We respect vets here.

Rivetman1.0: Patriotism

I am a Veteran and see it as disrespect and not joke.It was a stupid joke to start with and more than likely started from ignorance.

It is also very very tired as most of the stupid fark memes have become.
Please note Popcorn Bobs latest example

So,carry on

I'm a veteran and I am calling you a silly goose.

Rivet, the "joke" surrounds a former Farker who claimed to have been a Marine, but had no clue what he was talking about, including, but not limited to, spelling it "Marine Core", and referring to Marines as "soldiers". It became so painfully obvious that he was never in the Corps, but the "joke"s survived.  You are wasting your time, as most everyone who has posted in this thread knows that it is Marine Corps, knows that you never call a Marine a soldier, they know all of this, and intentionally screw it up to troll the new people who have no idea.
You fell for it, hook, line and sinker.

/don't feed the trolls
//yes, I actually served in the Marines in Desert Storm, but I am more than just that.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

You have certainly made that point extremely clear to myself and many others reading these posts.
Here it is again, since it seems to have whistled by you the first time;

Core

Facepalm

If you want to show your Love of Country and fierce patrioism not to mention your defense of a branch of the U.S. Military, that you never served in, and finally getting in my face with "whats your problem" directed at me obviously is acceptable, especially on FARK.

The disrespect to the United States Marine Corps with your illiteracy certainly is not.

Figured it out yet?

I agree; only a total looser would disrespect the Marines and their soldiers.

I think we found the newest Marine Core Soldier in Fark.  Who is apparently also too illiterate to read the already posted helpful advice.

Besides, Rivetman1.0, your just mad that all you ever did was sit and turn wrenches and never actually fought for your country. yknow, i could do nothing else in life and still be perfectly content with what i did overseas, and just content that i came back alive. i don't need to swing around the veteran thing at every corner, like your compensating a** does.

That, and i think it's funny when i see a 'marine core' headline. because i know how to laugh. i have the joy of humor in my life.

Oh yes Mr marine I will right now because you said so. You are the boss of everybody be cause you are an  Ex Marine. By the way, how come only 1 enlistment?
Screaming in someones face might motivate a Marine but in the real world most other people would take you for what you are which is an overbearing asshole with bad breath and poor linear thinking skills.
Also, if you try that in the professional world you will  have a difficult time finding and keeping employment that doesn't require a name tag that says "my name is" an you will be hard pressed to keep that if you are an abusive person as you portray yourself on fark.  How do you think that picture you posted would come across to someone evaluating your negotiation skills.
You would have a restraining order on you in a heartbeat.

For someone touting his 20 years' service in the Corps, you sure are a pussy.

Just a comment.

One Bad Apple: oi_piss_me_off: ...i can't tell if this is a troll-ception situation or not

Being an ex navy guy (and proud REMF btw) and having met many marines I'd say Durindel was really in the core (sorry). They are so self deluded that they continue to see the world through the prism of "The Corps Can Do No Wrong" etc etc looong after they get out.

If the job was so great why did you bail after only one hitch ?

If he is another fake he's an excellent study. Most amateur fakes will immediately claim some badass job like force recon instead of merely infantry. Rivets too. Legit or not he is brilliant at rubbing in the stereotype of the infantry being a dumping ground for people too dumb to mash a keyboard or spin a wrench.

It's not impossible that they are both trolling each other just for our benefit.

my point here was kinda the opposite: the Marine Corps is the kind of place that makes fun of itself alot of the time, and is an organization with flaws like everywhere else. I was irritated with rivetman bein' all serious about a little fark joke. the whole core thing is no big deal and a funny throwback to ol' flynavy

Wow, you are so pissed off that you don't even make sense when  you type and your delusional train of thought implies that you speak for everyone.
Get some help before you do something all concerned will regret.
I have seen your type a lot in interviews and it saddens me not to hire Veterans but the anger just seeps through in interviews. It is very easy to press buttons and see a persons demeanor change immediately.
The Military was 40 years ago for me this year so rage away, again,it is no concern to me.

Also the military was an enhancement for me and led to a great career.

Yes really.

*click*

Puller insisted upon good equipment and discipline; once he came upon a second lieutenant who had ordered an enlisted man to salute him 100 times for missing a salute. Puller told the lieutenant, "You were absolutely correct in making him salute you 100 times lieutenant, but you know that an officer must return every salute he receives. Now return them all, and I will keep count."

lulz.

Well, to be fair in England for much of their history they put their inbreds in charge.

I was thinking they'd have picked one of the first American breeds if the Marines were going to pick a dog for a mascott. Like the American Staffordshire Terrier, or even the Boston Terrier. I'd think the American Staffordshire Terrier would be a no-brainer.
