Yea! A new way for idiot pussy cops to force the deaf to RESPECT THEIR AUTHORITY, and only 96.5% non-lethal.

I'm sure they'll exercise caution and only use those at the proper range, instead of imbedding the terrible things in skulls and rib cages frequently.

Can't wait until they're put onto drones and fired into rioting crowds like cluster bombs.

I look forward to the videos of the aforementioned responsible usage.

When subby said 'wireless taser', I first thought that the bullet would be activated to a charged state in a wireless fashion by a remote device (the gun), instead of this electric bullet. I thought it would be, like, a 'Taysla' - a Tesla taser.

So, when you get shot with one of these, don't touch it and lean forward? Got it.

/nice how they tease footage of a (shirtless) man presumably about to get shot with one of these, yet never actually show the result.
//my guess is a typical winter jacket completely defeats the effect of these rounds.
///not that it matters, companies like this pop up, reap multi-million dollar contracts from state and county law enforcement agencies, then dissolve before some local deputy kills someone by tazing him while he's having an epileptic seizure, and the resulting liability lawsuits happen.

"Not guilty of murder, your Honour. The suspect refused to lie down and be still even though he was on fire, so our hero cop had no choice but to shoot. He did all he could in a very difficult situation. We also have 5 witnesses who would testify to that, lucky for us, they all work at the same PD"

Quote from the video : "There's full recovery, he'll completely recover from the electrical shock"

Unless he dies of a heart attack caused by the electric shock...

Then again, it was his fault, he shouldn't have talked back to the pigs.

When subby said wireless, I thought of something like this...

All controlled by remote...

Why would you need to taser anybody at 30 yards anyway?  Being 30 yards away they don't pose a danger to you.  You talk them down how ever long it takes.

2013-02-17 07:46:53 PM
So I assume this fancy piece of technology will be made readily available to the public, and the restrictions on using it will be similar to that of other non-lethal methods for resolving conflict. No? It will be reserved specifically for members of our local paramilitary to harass us with? What a surprise.

I've always wondered if you could create a suit that can be worn to negate a tazer. something reminiscent that turns the whole torso into a sheet to distribute or reflect the shock. Like how lightening is shed off of a car roof top or a plane.

Florida sheriff department introduces suspect to the 12 Gauge Taser. That's right. The shotgun taser May 9 2011

Stun guns, Tasers, Taser shotguns -- now everyone's worried about police injuring perps with a Taser grenade launcher. In related news, the cops would like to know if they could go back to just shooting people, please Nov 4 2009

Taser and Mossberg teamed up to make a shotgun that can take out Polish immigrants and elderly women at the same time. Bonus: the commercial is super creepy Feb 5 2008

Coming soon to an episode of COPS near you: The Taser shotgun July 11 2007

From the fine folks at Taser International comes the new Shotgun Taser Feb 27 2006

/I'm not saying that this particular video is a repeat, but the XREP shell is nothing new

This installment seems to assure that this is finally a deliverable product.

Scary shiat.

Sounds like a cool project, actually.

Do some research with that one.

You can see the presenter's eyes well up with tears when he gets to the "at extended range the only tool available is the sniper rifle, and that can't often be used" part of his speech. It's a shame how often that can't be used. Like when the target isn't armed, isn't dangerous, isn't presenting a threat... or if people are watching....

At the range that they will use those, they will end up blinding someone for life when they hit them in the eye by accident.

For $40 you can add a layer under your jacket which will defeat that weapon. Ya rly.

I can see a whole slew of Fark threads generated from the stories of toddlers being shot with this device from 40 yards by an overzealous security dude who mistook their 3'9" frame for a menacing black dude in a hoody and chomping on Skittles.

It _is_ a Faraday cage, no question, and might even withstand the prongs, but IIRC, they're intended to be grounded. Not plugged in, that potential has nowhere to go except into you as soon as you touch the jacket or reflexively grab at the shell.
