If advancing to the finals by process of elimination and then having 1 good round is domination, then baby, you just witnessed a total domination.

Final round was good though, I enjoyed the Johnny Cage fatality dunk by the runner up.

I think Ben McLemore's 360 dunk last night was better. Side View / Front View

Inception dunk by Evans was ridiculously underrated.

Dunks are less interesting when it's not done during a game. The competition just seemed boring and repetitive. How many times have you seen someone jump over something to make a dunk? Maybe the next step should be synchronized dunking.

Even though I didn't see the dunk competition, I feel safe in saying that Ryan Evan's put back dunk today in Wisconsin's demolition of Ohio State was better than any of the NBA's stuff last night.

Vince Carter ruined this contest for all others about 13 years back.

Hell, he shoulda been given an award on creativity alone

Dude painted it himself too.

Oh wait, Ross wore a jersey of Vince Carter, far more creative.

I have it DVR'd, I'll get to it later. Though while I was on the train going to/from the thing that caused me to miss it last night, I was watching some of the old dunk contests. Some thoughts:

1. Vince Carter's dunk contest has not lost anything with time.
2. The Walking Meme (aka JaVale McGee) put together a better overall body of work than Blake Griffin in '11. His last dunk wasn't great, but his first three were pants-shiattingly unbelievable. Especially the one where he dunked on two different nets. Everyone knows they were going to give it to Blake regardless, but still.
3. In that same '11 contest, DeMar DeRozan's second dunk was ridiculous. It deservedly got a 50, and he still didn't even move on.
4. Dwight Howard did the sticker dunk and didn't even get a 10 from a single judge. Which was and remains crap. When he won the next year it was almost like they were apologizing.
5. I feel like Gerald Green doing a between-the-legs dunk while not wearing shoes never got the praise it deserved.

My favorite was Inception dunk.

They really should kick out anyone who misses a dunk. No second chances. Bring in more competitors if necessary

Don't forget Iguodala getting robbed in 2006.

fark Nate Robinson.

Lost Thought 00: They really should kick out anyone who misses a dunk. No second chances. Bring in more competitors if necessary

To be honest I like that they give them a bunch of chances, mainly because a lot of the dunks they try now have a higher degree of difficulty than the dunks from older competitions. I mean, last night Gerald Green tried to dunk the same ball twice in one jump. No disrespect to, say, Dominique Wilkins, but that's a bit tougher than a windmill.

Didn't bother to watch any of the Nate ones since I don't remember them being particularly interesting. But one other point I forgot before: It's not mentioned enough how good Jason Richardson was in his contests. I mean, holy crap.

Awesome for Terrence Ross, Terrence Ross has a great future in the league. By the way I have no clue who Terrence Ross is

He didn't even deserve to be in the competition.  He is averaging 6 pts, 2 rb for the Toronto Raptors.  He is not a starter, not a star.  Sure he can jump out of the gym, but who cares?

Bring me back Jordan vs Nique.  The actual stars of the league need to step up.

F*ck him for making it one try after the last one that counted. That one was going to be great. Would've been interesting to see who made the finals from the east - does it become a three-man finals?

/though if cutting down the nets is part of your dunk, they should have you up last

See, a lot of basketball fans think this stupid sh*t. Jordan's and 'Niques dunks were lame compared to what was done Saturday. As Adande mentioned, he liked that it doesn't seem like Durant practices dunks - the best players in the game are actually good at basketball. These guys are good at dunking. I really don't need more Blake Griffin commercials in my dunk contest, and him getting the title just because he's the famous one and it's for an ad.

The painting dunk was possibly the single standout dunk, but Ross had the best set of dunks throughout the night. Definitely deserved it.

Whatever, it was and is perhaps the most boring aspect of all-star weekend.  I'd  rather watch the celebrity game than watch some no-names miss 75% of their dunks.  But whatever, people have different opinions.

Nah, the challenge course also being run by no-names was way lamer. At least have the stars do that - it's actual basketball movements that people actually use in a game for the most part. The crappy music.

The celebrity game should be one of the highlights of the weekend (didn't watch it, but there's no way it shouldn't be entertaining).

Which of those dunks do you think a star would have done better? Or even thought of?

/oh f*ck yeah, NFL, get on having a celebrity football game as part of the Pro Bowl weekend, you dumbf*cks
//it's okay if it's flag even though that wouldn't be as fun
///but that way they might show up
