So I know they're not playing today, but bow before your new goal-scoring co-overlord:

The hats rained down at the Coliseum last night. Now if only they could eliminate those periodic losing streaks...

Isn't it true that Cindy Crosby was captain of his high school diving team?

Jeez, thanks for the heart attack, subby, the game is at 12:30 and i got scared for a second that I was missing it.

They're even playing some outdoor college games in Soldier Field, starting at Noon CST. Unfortunately, those revolutions around the ice will not be televised, which is kinda lame but understandable.

/and that has to be the messiest url for an event that I've ever seen
//the NHL and college hockey should get together to do an outdoor doubleheader between tOSU and Michigan followed by Red Wings vs Blue Jackets
///and hope the UM-tOSU rivalry rubs off on Red Wings - Blue Jackets for Columbus' sake

Blue Jackets need to make a couple deep playoff runs for me to start caring about them. I'll hate Chicago and St. Louis all day, but I'm just indifferent about Nashville and Columbus. Jackets have a really nice arena though.

Drink every time NBC mentions Crosby.

Actually no, DON'T do that.

/Lets go Buff-a-lo!

We're going to get slaughtered aren't we?

Ugh, the Sabres have looked so bad this year.  I'm almost to the point where I want t see them tank the short season to get Ruff fire and draft Seth Jones.

But I'm not quite there yet.  Lets see how the look against the Pens. The Sabres last game on NBC (opening day against Philly) was their most complete game of the season, so maybe another appearance on NBC against a team from PA will get them back on track.

Lindy will never get fired unless Pegs fires Darcy as well.
Though I keep hoping he'll retire... soonish.

Might as well be.

Why have a freaking 8 year old sing the anthems?

Indeed. True rivalries are forged in the fires of playoff disappointment. At least Nashville has shown up on the Hawks radar as a worthy rival in recent years, which is why I'd rather they not get realigned into the east when the league moves the Jets back into the west.

/the Jackets might be the better team to move east, since they would benefit from being in a division with the Sabers and Penguins
//might help drive attendance

Buffalo always plays both anthems at every hme game, regardless of opponent.

Mainly because of their location on the border.  But it's a good idea anyway. Every team should do it, in recognition of the NHL's status as a binational league.

The NBA and MLB are binational as well. Should we sing Oh, Canada at a Spurs/ Thunder game?

I didn't know Ryan Miller was 32. He's... running out of time to win a cup, isn't he?

That kid was better than singer fox has ever had for a playoff game or super bowl.

Probably a big thrill for the kid. And she did a better job than most adult adult anthem singers I've seen.

She seemed terrified. Speaking of terrified, the Sabres give up a really early goal.

hulk hogan meat shoes:

The NBA and MLB are binational as well.

Not in the same way the NHL is.

Having one expansion team in Toronto doesn't really count.

The NHL's history is deeply rooted in both countries, and it gets a large number of players from both countries as well.

I know it's nothing new, but I still love the idea that the son of Popeye Jones is the consensus #1 pick in the NHL draft.

I thought he'd be a sleeper for me in fantasy. I ended up dropping him. No idea what's happened there, but it's bad.

Sabres need to get blown up. Vanek, Miller, and  Myers can all do much better.

Might as well have- the Penguins are playing Buffalo. The Sabres and Sens are so bad this year that the Leafs are in danger of making the playoffs.
