I would certainly invest a good chunk of it and give to family and friends as well.
I would, however, go on a marijuana binge as well.

Proves stupid people will always be stupid so quit giving them money, they choose to suffer through life and no amount of money will fix that problem.

I remember watching the story of that guy from Tennessee or Kentucky winning the lottery and he spent something like $3 million his first weekend he claimed it in Vegas, then bought a large mansion in some exclusive Florida neighborhood taking up about half of his winnings, then bought exotic cars, boats, jet skis and a shiat load of drugs.

He was filing bankruptcy in a short time later and I think is back at his old job while living in his grandmothers trailer or he was dead, I forget which.

Stupid people gonna stupid, money does not change stupid.

I'm trying to imagine just how much butane you have to leak while filling a goddamn torch to get enough in the air that it explodes upon reaching the furnace. Also, I like that his girlfriend just dropped him off at the hospital. Maybe she was trying to get back to the house before the brother smoked all the crank.

If there's such a thing as Darwinian Karma, things like stupid/evil people winning the lottery should self-resolve.

Meth and marijuana?  That's for poor people.  If I won the lottery, it would be cocaine all the way.

That sounds like exactly what to do with lottery winnings.  Save/spend hard earned money carefully but blow the fast cash that has nothing to do with your lifestyle on toys.  Life is short.

Thousands of people have won various lotteries. Just because the only ones you read about are the stupid ones, that doesn't make all lottery winners stupid.

Yeah, you don't hear about the ones that use the money wisely.  No one wants to read a story about a train that made it to it's destination on time.  That shiat's boring and doesn't bring in viewers or generate clicks.  But if that train derails, then it's news.

"some children"? Which children? Just a bunch of neighborhood kids that wanted to go for a ride?

If you're poor, and you win the lottery or otherwise come into a lot of money fast, the most difficult thing you have to deal with is all of your friends and relatives, most of whom are likely to be poor, too, and many of whom start coming around with their hands out.  I think that this is what undoes a lot of lottery winners.

Please. A huge portion of the population is born defective. Most people aren't fit to be parents. And one doesn't have to look around too much in public to clearly see the need to return to a strict program of eugenics is horribly overdue.

They publish where they live, and every detail of what occurred, but not their names? Perhaps they only print the names of the convicted, not the charged. Reads kind of strange written around that.

I would help my friends and family, invest a lot, get my masters and donate the rest. After I bought a decent sized house a car. I'd keep working but only on projects I believe in. I'm too young to retire. No meth or drug-fueled lifestyle changes.

True but stupid people are more likely to play the lottery if you dispute that, you're one of the stupid. The odds of winning favor the stupid.

In the UK lottery winners can choose to stay anonymous. Why any winner would give that up I have no idea. If I was a conjoined twin and I won I'd find a way to keep it a secret from my twin.

/It's also tax free here as well.

And they say money changes people...

I knew someone who inherited roughly this much money right after high school. He thought he was rich and I believe he was investing it in his marijuana businesses. That was many years ago and I haven't heard his name since, which in that business probably means it's working out for him.

He only won $75k.  It's OK to blow $10k or so of that on something wasteful.  Seriously, if you live in the US, $75k is not going to be life changing, best case an extra $1k/month for 6 years, letting you move into a bigger trailer and buy better weed, but you won't be drinking crystal and driving a ferrari.

Why do you hate our children?  You see, they get indoctrinated with that left wing critical thinking and that can't be good.  So we must think of our children, and not fund schools.

One "could" use that $75K to go to school and learn a useful trade, but I'm fairly sure THAT idea never entered that man's head....

Sometimes, I wonder if this is how rich people see the rest of us. As a bunch of self-destructive, meth-binging chimps who only cause death and woe whenever allowed access to wealth. And that steps must be taken to keep the peasants from having any money as a means to protect us from our own selves.

I disagree.  $75 is enough to get out of debt for most people (even some houses).  And being debt free can make life a HELL of a lot less stressful and more fun.
