Oh man, I *really* miss Smurf Berry Crunch, I can still taste it... that was like crack for kids back in day!  Nerds serial was pretty good too. Can't remember If I got the Nintendo one or not... probably did but don't recall it.

Nintendo cereal *sigh*. Many an episode of Garfield & Friends was watched whilst consumed that.

My parents refused to buy sugary cereals. We had to make do with plain Cheerios or Wheaties, or GrapeNuts. Sleeping over at friends' houses was always a treat - Fruit Loops for breakfast!

My parents mostly refused those sort of cereals.. but I did have #23, Donkey Kong Cereal, right after I got braces, because it was soft enough not to bother my sensitive teeth much.

Years later, I finally tried standard Captain Crunch and found it similar.

My favorite involving cereal in the 80's was when they took Captain Crunch's picture off the box as a promotional gimmick. What made it so cool was how the Morning Zoo in Houston dealt with it. They got a call from Captain Crunch.

"I've been kidnapped."

He said the kidnappers looked a lot like Snap, Crackle, and Pop.

Funny- some of the breakfast cereal names.
Not so funny- panicking several hours later because you were crapping red, blue or purple food colouring.

Saturday subby, this is Sunday, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal:

I've eaten better than half of those. Never had croonchy stars after seeing it, my 80's breakfast lineup seems incomplete, c3po was lame tasting but I had to have it when I was 4 or 5 or 6.

pacman cereal however was excellent and part of a nutritious breakfast but only if you left it on the table beside the mini wheats and orange slices. Unfortunately due to pacman cereal I now have a sick obsession with lucky charms, in  the morning I can eat a days worth of calories in one sitting.

Now that I have my own kids I only get the shiatty cereal around the marshmellows

I want Vanilla Cookie Crisp!!! I saw there a new Scooby Doo cereal by Kellogs. It says "VANILLA FLAVORED CEREAL", but the dire lack of sugar and flavor means I will most likely be throwing the box away in a few months with only one bowl consumed. So sad... bring back sugar dammit!!!
