Alright, well, I'm home for the weekend, and was looking for some gaming ...

2013-02-16 08:38:39 PM
I never got to play the Columbine Massacre video game that someone made, so I guess I will have to stick with this.

2013-02-16 08:54:28 PM
This is going to ruin 4chan's goody two-shoes reputation.

I wish people realized the more attention they fed to these things the more people notice.  If no one said anything than about 6 people would have known about this game it would go away in 10 minutes and no one would give a shiat.  And really.. are you that offended by a shiatty video game? Is that the worst thing that has come out of all this?

I am not against this. People of 4Chan's age should be pissed off how society is rigged against them. Good on them for making their own games and giving the finger to whatever corporatacracy mediocracy makes the usual vidgames foisted upon them.

Nope.

But here's a gameplay video with a link to a download. (Really NSFW, as if that has to be said.) It's probably a good idea to get (or build) your own gzdoom or zdoom executables from one of the official download sources, rather than blindly trust the ones in the distribution.

Don't get me wrong, he's not a "hero" for me. He's an asshole who needlessly murdered people. However, he could have been important in shedding a lot of light on the LAPD or even police corruption in general if he would have went the media route.

I know that some want to make light of tragic events just for sheer shock value. It gets them attention. But, one thing I'm gleaning from this case is that many people actually do feel like this guy is a hero. Although I feel they're mistaken, I still think it should be examined why.

"machinery"? the LAPD?

[clarification needed]

Machinery: pieces of material, usually metal, that function together to make a machine. Possibly an assemblage of metal that takes a small self contained projectile and inserts it into a metal tube before activating an explosive charge inside that projectile. A small piece of said projectile is then expelled down the metal tube at high velocity. This metal tube may contain twisting grooves in order to facilitate the flight of said small piece of projectile. There is a smaller tube at the end of the larger tube that collects some remnants of the explosive gases produced by the detonation of the explosive charge. This gas drives a small piston inside the smaller tube. This piston provides leverage by which the remaining piece of the projectile is expelled from the larger tube and another self contained projectile is driven upward into the now empty larger tube in order to begin the process over it. Some of these machines are capable of doing this hundreds if not thousands of times per minute depending upon their design.

Did that explain it well enough?

That was a nice try at false equivocation.

Just because you believe that there's some universal understanding of right and wrong doesn't mean that it's true and just because I don't believe that same thing doesn't make me a "sympathizer". Trying to form an understanding of something is intelligent. It doesn't mean that you won't ultimately come to the very same conclusion as the "Al Qaeda attacked us, let's invade Iraq" crowd, but at least you actually gave it some critical thought.

I'll be honest with you since you don't know me.

But I cheered a little. I like chaos. I didn't know those people he killed, so I wasn't emotionally effected. I think he had good reason to be pissed and he did what I believe alot of people would do if they were in his position and were honest about their true nature.

But I am but one man who would not allow himself to be put in the situation Dorner put himself in.

Dorner is no hero, but I will say this:

He COULD have murdered that couple who discovered him in the cabin - he didn't. He tied them up so loosely that they were able to immediately break free and call the cops.

He COULD have murdered the guy whose pickup he car-jacked - but he didn't - he patiently allowed the driver AND his dog to safely exit.

Dorner didn't shoot old women and couples in random pick-up trucks in a panty-wetting frenzy of chickenshiat fear

And if Dorner did commit premeditated murder - so did the cops when they intentionally roasted his ass.

Dorner is no hero, but he exposed the SoCal cops for being the hypocritical, corrupt, cowardly farks that they are.

All that matters is that the news reporter sounded upset about this video game and he thinks Dorner is a poo poo head.

You can't ask questions after this point. You are supposed to go to work now and tell all your fellow employees how much of a poo poo head Dorner is and they must agree with you that he is a poo poo head.

Goes a long way into figuring out what made him tick.  He did have a sense of honor, if warped.  He was a man who took issue with the system.

People claim terrorist, but that's not what he was.  Zealot, maybe, vigilante for sure, but not a terrorist.  Now, a martyr, what with the police civilian shootings and other questionable actions on their part, sure.  Not an ideal martyr, he had some vast flaws(like that he was psychotic , but a martyr still. (for the people that think LAPD still have serious issues and too little is being done about it)

Interesting side tidbit.  The surfer they rammed and shot at? The one who was(and I laughed at this too) "coming right at them"?  (from the pics cops t-boned him..) They offered a rental car and medical costs.  I had to chuckle at that, hope the department gets their asses sued off and those officers get fired.

Doktor_Zhivago: Amos Quito: Doktor_Zhivago: /Where's Wayne LaPenishead to blame Chocolate Rambo's rampage on this videogame instead of the actual piece of machinery that gave a man the capability to make all this to happen?

No you don't.

Circumstantial evidence certainly points to that conclusion, but it remains unproven.

Indeed, the evidence is FAR stronger that the LAPD and SBSD conspired to willfully and premeditatedly murder Dorner.

Listen to the police recording that incriminates them, evidencing premeditation and conspiracy.

Makes a weird kind of sense to me.

Short version: People hate the LAPD and saw Dorner as an antihero delivering overdue comeuppance.
A Robin hood like figure ready to take all of our grievances and stick it to the man,
What he actually believed (pro authority, pro government, pro gun control) and what he did (murder innocent people, hijacking, taking hostages) is overshadowed by the fact he was attacking a symbol of oppression.

Fact is that we created this breed of law enforcement. We voted for it, we funded it, we authorized it and we failed to put proper checks and balances in place to control it. This abuse machine keeps growing and hires thousands of people like Dorner to put a boot on the necks of otherwise good citizens, but we continually fail to kick the bastards out of Dodge or reign them in.

...So now people think we need someone to save us from our own monstrous pet.
Dorner fits the bill for some. A boogie man that makes cops run scared.
For others, he'll just be a justification for the cops needing grenade launchers and armed aircraft.

/The people of LA should deal with the LAPD themselves though legal channels. That department needs a complete teardown.
/But the public is too lazy to do it their own damn selves, so they cheer on someone they think is helping the cause.
/Of course that solved nothing. Dorner was out there for petty personal reasons and the cops were fine with blowing holes in innocent people to get at him.
/Now the only things left are dead bodies, damaged property, and a bunch of questionable decisions that won't be justified to anyone's satisfaction.

Interesting, the police did basically everything but hold a pep rally for guy.

The LAPD really did just go step by step unmaking this guy a quasi-martyr. And the media ate this shiat up as well. Fired for standing up for a victim, Veteran, and black.

Then the cops go out and shot some cars up.

Now, I see why LA wanted to hire Tuscaloosa's former sheriff. They are run by a bunch of morons.

Why do you hate Dorner?

thisisyourlaugh.files.wordpress.com

It's because he's black, isn't it?

Dark humor aside, I was satisfied with OJ being found not guilty in the murders of Brown and Goldman. Why? Because I felt that

1. The prosecution failed to make their case
2. The cops and prosecution AND the cops played DIRTY, mishandling evidence, etc.

The cops and prosecutors are SUPPOSED to represent and protect the interests of the People. When they fall into malfeasance  in their efforts to "win" a case, justice is not served, and THE PEOPLE - society as a whole, loses.

There are plenty of cases where the reverse happens, and the innocent are convicted thanks to corruption, malfeasance, or the suppression of evidence - yet the cops and prosecutors are rarely if ever held accountable for the misery and suffering they cause.

So yes, I'm in favor of the presumption of innocence and due process - AND I hold cops, prosecutors and judges to a higher standard than the "common rabble" whom they presume to judge.

It's interesting (to me, anyway) that we had a few reasonably good years of LAPD under Chief Williams and Chief Bratton, both of whom were hired from outside the department...and now that Chief Beck has taken over, we're starting to have problems again. Who is Chief Beck, you might ask? Well, Chief Beck was one of Darryl Gates' officers, ran the now-defunct and infamous CRASH squad, and is a lifetime LAPD member.

That doesn't make him per se a bad Chief...but it IS going to change the tenor of the way LAPD handles things, and I think we're seeing it in the way aspects of the Dorner incident were handled.

Crazy: The LAPD are corrupt and very much a deplorable hive of scum and villainy. SO I'MMA KILL THEIR DAUGHTERS!
Public: Oh god, yet another lunatic.
LAPD: OMIGAWDOMIGAWDOMIGAWD! SHOOT EVERYONE! I DON'T WANNA DIE! *shoots old ladies*
Public: fark the LAPD.

At least, that's my process. Nothing Dorner said or did was commendable, but even an evil clock is right sometimes. Why are heads not rolling in the LAPD right now from whatever higher police authority we have for shooting up two innocent ladies while looking for a large man? Paid leave my ass. Unpaid leave plus charges and the officials who gave the ROE out on their brass asses as well.

All of America should be up in arms over the LAPD's hamfisted attempt to protect itself from ONE GUY at the expense of the safety of the entire city of LA. They were more of a danger to the public during the whole incident.

And the basketball coach Monika Quan was a "legit" kill because of her dad right??

ionenewsone.files.wordpress.com

Are you implying that Randal Quan may have killed his own daughter and her fiance because he disapproved of their interracial relationship?

That's a new wrinkle.

Kevin72: I am not against this. People of 4Chan's age should be pissed off how society is rigged against them. Good on them for making their own games and giving the finger to whatever corporatacracy mediocracy makes the usual vidgames foisted upon them.

AHAHAHAHA, you think people on 4Chan do things based on principals...AHAHAHAHA.

"an hero" is a meme. Years ago some 11 or so year old kid was listening to his iPod and didn't hear (nor apparently see) an incoming bus. He gets hit and killed and his friends set up a memorial Facebook page. /b/ quickly got wind of it and were shiatposting the Facebook page. One of his friends was angry and told everyone to lay off and that his friend was "an hero." This created even more laughs and the the trolling intensified.

It was quite hilarious.

Actually he killed himself, I believe hanging from a tree.

because he lost his iPod. =/
It was a friend who coined the "an hero" on a memorial facebook page and /b/ took it from there.

God-is-a-Taco: It continues to be the good part of the internet, despite what others may say.
In the age of Likes, Upvoting, and even Ignore; 4chan stands as a beacon of free expression and communication for the sake of communication.

Meanwhile Fark has the TF/Liter thing, attention whores with wishlists, "Funny" and "Smart" buttons, and so on.

Thankfully the AW with the wishlist moved to Reddit.

The game is meh. Ttitles of each scenario are rather , in a way, funny. I wont use the n word, or even try to, but live free or die ( blank ) kept making me think of the tribute song to Die Hard films

KiwDaWabbit: He's an asshole who needlessly murdered people. However, he could have been important in shedding a lot of light on the LAPD or even police corruption in general if he would have went the media route.

You do realize he sent at least one DVD to the media, and that it was promptly ignored... until he (allegedly) killed people. So... yeah.

doglover: Way to understate reporter dude.

WHAT HAPPENED

It's cute that you think everyone believed that LAPD was some kind of incorrupt, holy organization until one guy who was a patrol officer for a few years suddenly decided to blow the whistle, and they were so scared of what he might say etc. etc.

I got news for you, charlie: Even their most ardent defenders don't think the LAPD was corruption-free. And if you're so into the conspiracy theories, you can figure this one out: Howcome they waited till NOW to kill Dorner, and do it in such a loud noisy manner? He's been off the force for two years. If he really had the kind of information you seem to think he's got, they could have killed him any time since 2010, and much more quietly and nobody would have noticed.

And don't give me this "Well, he didn't threaten to go public till now" bit. If someone is that big a threat, as corrupt an organization as you seem to think LAPD is wouldn't wait for him to "go public." They'd make sure he never got the chance.

Amos Quito: Hobo Jr.: Rufus Lee King: Gosh, I'm sorry about the whole thing with him. You FARK types lost a hero, didn't you?

I'll be honest with you since you don't know me.

But I cheered a little. I like chaos. I didn't know those people he killed, so I wasn't emotionally effected. I think he had good reason to be pissed and he did what I believe alot of people would do if they were in his position and were honest about their true nature.

But I am but one man who would not allow himself to be put in the situation Dorner put himself in.

Dorner is no hero, but I will say this:

He COULD have murdered that couple who discovered him in the cabin - he didn't. He tied them up so loosely that they were able to immediately break free and call the cops.

Amos Quito: Vegan Meat Popsicle: KiwDaWabbit: Although I feel they're mistaken, I still think it should be examined why.

The only thing I wonder about those morons is if they just ignore the fact that he shot two innocent civilians dead or if they think that simply being related to a cop is reason enough to be murdered in cold blood.

Also, I'm not running an executable from 4chan, thanks. I'll just reinstall Vice City and wait for the mod.

[www.pslweb.org image 400x225]

[msnbcmedia.msn.com image 380x254]

Yeah.

So it's okay to murder innocent people so long as the cops later shoot at innocent people while they're looking for you in a massive manhunt?

What's it like being a moron?
