(The Weekly Standard)   Are separate vacations the first sign of trouble in paradise? Probably not, but let's run with it anyway   (weeklystandard.com ) divider line

Well that's progress. No mention of how many billions this will cost the U.S. Taxpayer.

I heard this cost $1 billion per hour, and Taxb0nghit fired 10,000 coal workers to be used as fertilizer for his HUSSEIN ARUGULA!

/Thanks a lot, 0bama!

Wow. First it was failed campaign promises, then failed economic policies, and now a failed marriage.

So sad, really.

Do the Obama's realize that children from single parent homes grow up to be pot-smoking, child-raping serial killers? I read it on FreeRepublic.

I read a post from she-who-must-not-be-mentioned that Michelle was spotted doing deep knee bends out in the asparagus patch

For a middle-class couple?  Possibly.

For a wealthy couple?  No.  It's like asking if separate lunches is a sign of trouble.

Wow, that reporter really earned his. paycheck today.  I hope his parents are proud.

My wife has no desire to be involved on any level with a half a dozen guys fishing as close to 24-7 on Martha's Vineyard well before the weather approaches anything resembling "nice" and sleeping in cars and on the floor of a small cottage that might barely be adequate for a family of four.

So, no.

Weekly Standard has upped their cred to that of the Globe.  Well it's progress I guess.

Had an ex that went on vacation without me, but with two friends, that were single, and male, and couldn't understand why I would have a problem with this. Later she dumped me. I'm a tool.

Is Barack hanging out with this guy?

Trouble.

It's a sign of health and trust. The partners can take care of themselves in a way that they can enjoy and both are ok with it. My husband would rather go climb a mountain whereas I would rather play at the beach, for example. A good rest and recharge is awesome for a marriage.

Fail. 21 years married, still frisky, and we routinely take separate vacations, or scoot out on daytrips during longer vacations for each of our interests (different kinds of museums). The fun is coming back together and sharing.

Those of you who have been covering the White House know that the First Lady and her two daughters, on a pretty annual basis around this time, will go on a ski trip out west with some family friends, and they're doing that again this year.

Makes sense.

Also... Obama's going golfing? In February? In Florida?

I'd pick that over snow too.

/I sound cold.

Single-parent worked out pretty good for ol' Taxbongo. Maybe this vacation is just shoring up the girls' election chances.

Obama/Obama 2050?

Mrs. Earguy likes taking annual trips with all the female members of her family.   I'll go to professional conventions, photography workshops, road trip with friends to a concert or golf weekend.

We learned a long time ago that we have some separate interests.   Rather than endure things we don't enjoy, we do those things separately.  Other times we have romantic weekends and nice vacations together.  It's all good.

I take vacations away from my S.O.  She doesn't like to travel, we both get a break from each other, and I get to go where I want 100% of the time.  It's awesome.

Did you hear! Roosevelt is dead! The astrologers were right! The allies will fall out! We will make a truce with the Russians! They are on their last reserves of strength! Then we turn on the British and Americans! Victory is in sight!

Mein Fuhrer! I can walk!

Same here. Although we are in constant contact, almost every trip I take during the year is apart from my wife and children. I don't understand why anybody would think that this is weird.

Fishing? I thought you said "fisting".
