Um aren't a lot of those people on emergency planning commissions and considered "essential" workers? How do you people get so worked up over $15,000 being spent to ensure the smooth functioning of government in a time of crises?

TBH, the main problem I have with plowing is that it stopped.  Half the side streets in Fall River are still one-way because of it, and anywhere where a tree blocked any part of the road, I've yet to see a plow go by afterwards and clear said spot in the road.  It's like they're asking for front-end collisions or something.

Did they end up paying MORE to clear those spaces? That army of plows was going to have to work anyway and those spaces were going to have to be cleared eventually. It's disingenuous to cite a cost as if it wouldn't ever have to be paid otherwise.

I can see the Herald's take if they plowed out Fall River now: "Gov. Deval Patrick, who is black, spent $1 million of our tax payer dollars to ensure the state has an ample supply of heroin.  I hear the state paid $20,000 just to make sure the line from the docks to the highway was the first cleared"
