"I Googled her mother and found her mother again. And when I did, I found that she's had a daughter and given birth on a time that would have been a time when we were involved," he said.

When he called her, he added, she told him they had "a lot of catching up to do."

The man who raised her, however, was unaware of the situation, and the family has kept it secret since Cohen found out three years ago. However, he has brought Brink to Washington and the two have spent time in Memphis together, including a trip to Graceland.

I feel for her dad- the man who raised her and had no idea. I can't imagine how awkward that whole thing is, right now.

She's married to Sinatra Jr. and she's a top tier international lawyer. Doubt she has much to get from Cohen, that being said hope he's ran the dna

Did he "have no idea" he was not her biological father, or just "have no idea" who her biological father was?
If the former, i.e., Ms. Sinatra was involved with both men at the time, is Rep. Cohen sure that he is the father?  If the later, then is it that big a shock?  He knew that the girl was fathered by somebody, and given his wife's personal history, that somebody was likely to be a politician.

I doubt it is the former scenario.  If a politician had an affair with a married woman over twenty years ago, and later found that she had a daughter 9 months later...he would just keep his mouth shut.  married women get pregnant all the time, it's no big deal, why invent trouble?

The media was entirely reasonable in assuming a congressman tweeting 'Ilu' to a 24 year swimsuit model was having an affair. Cohen's reasons for keeping his daughter secret from the media were also entirely reasonable. This whole thing is an unfortunate, awkward misunderstanding. Stop trying to turn it into a political story.

I don't know that you could call it "having an affair" if that had been the case.  I thought I read that he had never married.

Congressman who can't keep it in his pants, abandons, or at least doesn't care to ever see if he had) a kid, allows some other poor man to pay for the child's upbringing and education.

Good for him. I'd ding the guy for not being there, except it sounds like he never knew she existed. Instead of hiding her, or acting ashamed, he seems thrilled and proud to have a daughter. That's how it's supposed to be.

It seems like they have an acute bonding relationship and frankly, that's all that matters.  This isn't a sex scandal, just a father who recently found out that he had a daughter and they wanted to keep in touch.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy when I heard that either, but then I remembered rotary phones :)  It is a colossal pain in the ass though trying to do advertising. across generations.  You have old people who hate email, young people who hate email, and people my age who can't figure out why no one is answering their damn emails.

Judging by the number of texts I get from my youngest sister, it's texting all the way.

And as someone who really prefers not talking on the phone to all but a few people, I welcome the era of the text. I just wish Siri was better at it so I could do it hands free.

Well, since you wouldn't have lived with her or developed a normal parental relationship with her while she was growing up, there's a good chance you'd subconsciously think about her as just another super hot, completely plowable chick.  In other words, yeah, you'd probably secretly fap to her picture while feeling shameful and dirty.

I've really aggressively been a luddite about cell phone technology and not following it at all, but... seriously? You want to talk to your phone so it can make text, and - if assuming the other end also wants to text hands free, though this certainly wouldn't be all the time - can be read out back to them?
I just... argh. Dafuq.
