I've only ever been warned by a cop once.  At a party at an apartment in college many years ago.  I was 21.  I went out onto the porch of the apartment with a drink in my hand.  The cop asked if I was 21, I said yes.  He then said he could arrest me for drinking in public.  I said "Okay, sorry" and walked back inside.
