umad: Ilmarinen: umad: No. I'm honestly happy for DRO. He spends every day trying to make race threads. He deserves a break once in a while. So do we.

A racist calling minorities criminal has been arrested for a crime and you expect a break from talking about race? Looks like you picked the wrong thread.

Not in this thread. That was my point. If this guy wasn't a racist, DRO would be stuck doing his typical "herp dederp if this guy was black you'd all be saying all black people are like this! derp" shtick. Instead, he gets to relax and crack jokes.

He doesn't need to turn other threads into threads about race because this one actually is.

And actually, to clarify things for you, I do not go into threads which do not have anything to do with race and try to make them about race. I'll type slowly:

I noticed a while back that whenever there was a thread about a black person commiting a crime or doing something stupid, Farkers would get into discussions about culture and the morality of black people. But, when a crime was commited by a white person the comments focused on the individual and there were never any comments about the morality of white people. No one would suggest that a white person ddoing something stupid was an indication that many or all white people were stupid. No one would suggest that a white criminal was evidence that white people are predisposed to commit atrocities. But it was done all of the time in any thread about blacks. So, in threads where a white person did something that was considered criminal or stupid, I ask the question, "Does this person's actions tell us anything about all white people?" The point being, if your answer to that question is 'no' than you should be able to make the logical jump and conclude that all black people are not the same, either. I don't go into a thread about a man getting eaten by an alligator and suggest that the gator only ate him because he was black. So, your classification of me as a threadshiatter is misguided.

umad: DROxINxTHExWIND: Look, being in the Klan isn't as lucrative as it once was. The rich people who would have joined them in the past can't afford to be affiliated with them nowadays, so they just become Republicans. Plus, Old Cletus the Treasurer, lost all of the local chapter's money over a three month span ($414) when he used the Klan Amex card to log on to live sex chats with a black woman named Cinnamon.

I'm happy you got your race thread for the day. Maybe you can lay off the race-baiting threadshiatting in the rest of the threads for a while.

*Sigh*

If you don't like threads about racist take it up with Drew. Its a joke and I think its pretty funny. Take the stick out of your ass and use it to bang a piñata. Have a Happy Friday.

Seldom have I seen such irritating reporting.  Nothing the guy said was unfit to quote in the first article or the linked article that contained the video interview.  But go ahead and make me work for his actual words, you underhanded farks.  And the punk reporter was pusillanimous in his questioning, too.

Putting people on Ignore is like closing your ears and eyes to something you don't agree with. It breeds ignorance, just because you don't agree with someone doesn't make you right and them wrong. If all we ever listened to were things that fit our own veiw we would be very limited in what we learn.

Putting people on ignore because they disagree with me would be foolish.

Putting people on ignore because they have demonstrated complete contempt for rationality, reasonable dialogue, and basic courtesy is a different issue.  When someone's sole reasons for posting are to cause anger and derail the conversation, they are not contributing anything that is worth reading.

umad: DROxINxTHExWIND: I hear Fark has an ignore feature. You don't have to put yourself through this.

Neither do you. I don't use ignore because I'm not a baby.

So, you just biatch about having to read someone's comments. Yeah, that's much more manly. Don't try to turn this on me. I don't give a shiat what you type.

Does it upset you when people insult racists?

spentmiles: I doubt he was referring to bank robbery when he made his comments.  There are roughly 8800 bank robberies each year in the United States.  Contrast that to 1.3 million violent crimes committed every single year.  One is noble and requires a degree of art.  The other is base and perpetrated by animals.  I don't think we can criticize the guy for pointing out the difference.

A person who is willing to live by society's rules is human. People who don't are just hairless apes.  Differentiating between different "kinds" of criminal is purest sophistry.
The lowest of the low are the animals who don't want to pay their taxes. Talk about your dirty, filthy apes.

HotWingConspiracy: Shanahan also appeared on 103.3 The Edge's Shredd and Ragan show to discuss his comments.

I love that no matter what 3rd tier radio market you might find yourself in, you can rely on there being a zany name/straight man duo on.

Welcome to the Felcher and Smith show

Welcome to the Fister and Rodgriguez show

Welcome to the Gooch and Levine show

Whereas here we have the Pocket Ninja and someone who has never run into him before show. Ours is infinitely more entertaining, however.

/ I think I once was the second party on that show, incidentally.

Pointing out the flaws in other people is a time-honoured way of deflecting attention from one's own flaws. Unhappy with your life? It's those damned minorities. Feeling unsuccessful? Probably the fault of those damned jews. Remember, it's not you, it's other people by dint of them embodying your own  worth flaws.
