Sarah Jessica Parker may be insufferable at times, but she deserves better than that.

Can we stop it with the Sarah Jessica Park jokes?  Not all celebrities buy exotic breeds of pets, some actually do the right thing and adopt.  Bless her heart for this altruistic demonstration of benevolence.

Esperanza suffers from a genetic eye disease that has robbed most of her sight in the right eye and is now infecting the left eye.

When workers showed up at the Arizona Humane Society early one day last week, they were created by a 900-pound surprise

Took me a few minutes to figure out what word was supposed to be here.

Damned shame.  Glad she found a good home that quickly.

Horses are expensive and dangerous, yet people buy them for little children and have no idea what they're doing.  No "non-gun" family would go buy an 8 year old a glock and just let him play with it, yet they'll give someone younger than that a 1200 pound, instict-driven animal.

Don't take that tack with me.

I'm going to stall here and take the dogs to the park. Let's corral this for now.

Considering how Humane Society treat humans in this area, I understand the middle of the night drop off.  We really don't know the story behind the horse, but atleast they made a decent attempt to care for the animal.  They probably didn't know about the ranch, and dealing with folks at HS and the city animal shelter are a pain.  I have heard very worse stories of mistreatment.  I have had in-laws leave animals with me, and after they didn't come back for them (I had already told them, we couldn't handle more animals) I took the animals in.  I always caught nasty attitudes from both places.  The last animal we took in was a stray cat.  We tried for a few months to train the cat, only to have it destroy most of the house. The animal shelter has no choice but to take the animal and they made a point to treat us like crap.  We had two other cats that were wonderful and we needed our cage back and the lady purposely smashed it against a block wall right in front of us.  I understand they see a lot of bad stuff done to animals, but with that kind of behavior, I would rather put the animal down with an ax than deal with that again. (no I have not, just saying)

Treat people's best intentions with harsh criticism, expect them to start shooting the animal in the head because they will be viewed as monsters anyway.

I'm surprised at the number of people who keep horses they never ride.

One of my neighbors rented a few fields out to a guy with three horses. He'd bought them for his daughters who'd since left home. For five years he only ever came by to drop off the checks. Then one day, the owner asks my neighbor how much for him to put them down. He said no dice, so finally the guy did a little legwork to find someone who wanted them.

This is why I like the ASPCA. They tend to be run by volunteers that are borderline insufferable with their positivity and desire to help.

Well considering how some shelters need food to feed the animals i think of this as a nice donation of food for the dogs. Solves 2 problems at once!

I would apologize, but then I'd just be closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.

And then during down economies, the owners are wondering what to feed the horse, let alone how to train it. There is always somebody trying to give away a horse and not enough places for them to go. Mrs. Coaster and I have three of our own (two arabians and one arab/quarter cross) and we're stabling two horses for friends who needed a hand with them.

She's driven about making sure horse owners know something about horsemanship.

/ And you're right - it's something else when you're one of the few guys in a nearly-all-female world.
// Yeeeeha!
