5 years ago tomorrow I met my sweet Ellie.  She rescued me.  I'm sure there are folks who think I rescued her but it really she who rescued me.

I found her on the street in my neighborhood.  She was a recent kitty mom but there were no babies near her.  She was starving and very sick.  And feral

i112.photobucket.com

My vet did her thing (tests) and asked me what I was going to do with the kitty.  I said 'Keep her of course'  I swear my vet smiled.

I named her Ellie after my mom...Ellie was very angry when I picked her up off the street...she called me names.  MOM!!! (my Mom had Alzheimer's and called me a Son of a biatch, Dirty Bastard and a Whore.)  I still laugh at that.  I'm a biatch yes but I am a daughter, not a bastard and I'm sure someone thinks I am a ho (I am not of course).

Ellie and I have a huge connection now of course.  She is on the couch behind me right now.

i112.photobucket.com

For a former feral, she is a love.  It took 2 months before i could hold her.  And from there we connected.  It took 6 months till she decided she needed to sleep on my bed and I wasn't going to kill her.  Now she sleeps with me every night and snuggles next to me.

Happy Gotcha Day Ellie....(and if anyone wants to see her blog it is at  http://ellientheheathens.blogspot.com/ )

Bottom of page 3, and I'm gonna catch up before heading off to Mordor work.

SO glad I can have Raven 'working' with me. Last night I dealt with a laundry monster of epic proportions...which meant I spent over 5 hours downstairs. Due to grumpy-ass knees, I limit my up-downstairs trips to ONE per shift...so I was stuck until I finished.

My hearing is good..."Myaaaah? Myaaaaaaaah?" faintly from upstairs.

"Raven...I'm down here."
Dat Little FaceTM appears at the top of the steps. UP goes the tail, and she trots downstairs.
Purr purr purr purr.....

She'd missed me and had come looking for me.
As well as the "Awwwwww..." factor, can't tell you how much that means to me. It's nice to have confirmation from your furkids that you are important to them.

One of my pussies was abandoned in a foreclosure house.  Sometime in 09 one of my neighbors walked away from their house, leaving with it an absolutely gorgeous, previously indoor only, white/gray cat with blue eyes.  They just left the poor kitty in the house with the rear sliding door wide open.  I didn't know it was there until a couple months later when I found it emaciated and cowering under some bushes in my front yard. After talking to a neighbor I found out that the poor thing had been wandering in and out of the empty house since the owners had left.  I don't know what the fark was wrong with the neighbor that apparently just watched a slowly starving cat from their window but I started feeding the thing and now it has made my backyard its home.  It is now fat and happy.

I just did this. With two cats. One the people left in a tree and I got right away. Her name is spiderpig now and she has a fantastic cat tower that she loves. It goes all the way to the ceiling next to a five shelf bookshelf. The other took me a week to find out was locked in the foreclosure. Her name is chuck Norris now. She is a survivor and a cuddle bug. We figured sandy made us homeless, and assholes made them homeless, so perfect fit for us. 300 bucks in vet bills later it was well worth it. They are awesome.

Evening All!
Sorry I'm late... just got Gizzard from the Vets an hour or so ago... (she had her girly *no more heat* operation today).
Tell me how, again...I'm suppose to keep her calm and quiet? This 'cone' thing is a big game to her! I play with all 4 of mine with (modified) cones..... Mt. Dew 12-pk box 'necklaces'......lunch bags (with eye holes) -- a la Maru....
This cone just makes her the stonedest kitteh wif the kewlest necklace -- and the other 3 want it!
I'll get some warm, loving, 'sisterly' pics of them tomorrow.

Yep, I'm the Dedd Spermz lady. And as soon as I finish up this Dr. Who scarf for Haruko, I'll get a head start on them. This time (for giggles) I'll make male & females!!
Anybody want to throw out a number for how many inches long this here scarf is suppose to be? I have +130" now.

And to YOU, Kind Hero Discoverer/Rescuer...

More nattering about The Oreo-Ninja Clowder...

I love coming home from work. Not just because my shift is DONE and I am HOME...if the cats are out I am cheerfully, boisterously welcomed home .

That "You're back! You're back!" dash- tails UP...then levitating THUD onto the hood, the roof, even into the car itself as I open the door.
Purrs, headbumps...and I haven't even gotten out of the car yet.

It's not necessarily a case of "FEEEED ME, Seymour!".
Sometimes D'Artagnan will have opened the window so there's access to food, water, warmth and comfort. Yet my cats come banzai out the window when they hear the car pull up.

Cats are very honest in their likes and dislikes...they don't feel a need to impress anybody.
What you see is pure, sincere, and 100% REAL.
(Hope I'm making sense here...)

Had a bit of 'discussion' with D'Artagnan last night before going to work...he thought he might like to go for a ride...and I had to get to work. He finally got out of the car...but only to plop his handsome furry little butt on the hood.

"Damn it, D'Artagnan, you are NOT going street-surfing! Move it, kid...I gotta go to work NOW!"

Honking the horn only got me a LOOK (read: "You idiot, you think I'm gonna fall for THAT?")...finally convinced him to get off by turning on the windshield wiper (it sprays).

He still greeted me this morning...and I let him sit in the car for as long as he wanted.

Forlorn

I do not know how long.
I only know it has been,
Forever.

I miss your scent,
Your voice.
Your attention.

I miss being part
Of your life.

Always so  busy.
Never enough time.

I do not understand.
How could you ignore me?
Why didn't you take me with you?

I loved you.
With all my being.
All my soul.

I would have stayed by your side.
No matter what happened.

I could have lifted your spirits,
Dried your face of tears.

Snuggled close,
Given you comfort,
In the storm.

Instead, I am alone,
Confused. Scared.
Left to die.

I lay my head upon my paws,
Dream of better days,
As my body  slowly wastes away.

I will go home,
I know it now.
Too soon.

In the distance I hear music,
Soft voices.
Smell tears.

I am borne up,
Held once more.
I hear a kind heart.

Does it truely
Beat for me?
Then I shall bide,
A while more.

Oh Hai!!!
I made it in this weekend!
YAY!!!
I better start catching up on the thread!

Alien !!  So glad to see you here !  Tis a cold rainy day down here.. alternating between rain and snow.. temp just hit 32, so any more precip will be snow... took a cat nap earlier, with cats.. was going well until Thumper went after Trip,s tail.. Trip has the bum front leg and can't climb, but does carry a grudge, I think he may have given up the chase at this point.. Thumper has been jumping from one object to another, with Trip following on the floor.. the rest of the crew have been following them, waiting for the fracas... I finally defused the situation by serving dinner.. if you say the word 'food', 'eat', or 'hungry', you have Trip,s undivided attention, and if you take one step toward the kitchen he will get there before you...
Hope the job is going well.. sounds like you enjoy it..

Hey!
Yes, I'm really enjoying working in the hospital. I'm getting quite a lot of positive feedback - I am constantly floored by just how many people working in hospitals should.not.work.in.them. Apparently a lot of nurses are starting to feel "spoiled" by having someone who actually does their job come up and not only does that, but makes them laugh and the patients smiles.
I'm just being me - but I am being told they don't see people like me often working.
/maybe this will promote some good changes with everyone :D
//if not it's not like I'm going to change - I enjoy being a pain in teh ass causing mayhem and chaos >;D

Yes that is a snake, a TOY snake! I bought it to train the Guinea Fowl but they never looked twice at it so I put it in the garden to keep the birds off of my tomatoes. It wound up in the bucket of strange garden stuff.

I was trying to find all of my tools when I came across it and just tossed it on the floor. I threw it away by the end of the day because it was so unnerving to see it every time I walked in the garage.

I keep buying more tools to get the house livable and then I find I already have one or two of whatever I just bought. My son is helping with the heavy or icky work and I am spoiling him with all the tools I own. He thought the oscillating saws were a gimmick until he used mine.

This was one of the more interesting finds under the bathroom floor:

farm9.staticflickr.com
By the end of the day we had fixed the duct, re-routed the water line and replaced the rotted parts of the floor. My son used to work for a guy that had rentals so he knew more about replacing floors than I did. I just kept handing him tools and we got it fixed.
farm9.staticflickr.com
I let him use all of these:

I beat ya to coffee (been up since 3 am) but breakfast looks nommylicious! I'm probably going to make myself and my sis some Huevos Rancheros in another hour or so.

Looks good, huh? I'm glad I grew up in Cali. We have every cuisine on the face of the planet relatively easy to find here, some authentic, some not so much. While we're fairly heavy on the Mexican food (and it is my favorite ethnic cuisine) it would not be strange at all for me at all to have CalMex for breakfast, Vietnamese for lunch and Thai for dinner/supper and European style (pick a region) sweets for a late night dessert. It's like a foodie paradise out here.

I sorta want one of those combo toaster oven things, btw. I have no idea where we'd put it, but man, they are cool. We've had a toaster oven in our kitchen for my entire life. That was one of my "getting her own place finally" gifts back in the day. I'm just as attached to my toaster oven (just bought a new one about six months ago) as one friend's mom is attached to her blender.

Allen. The end.: Oh hell. My cat Jupiter is 18 years old. Monday she goes into the vet...things are not looking good. I've never lost a pet before, and I am wigging out. She was a hunter, and now an indoor cat, and I've been giving her glucosamine and chondroitin...but she is eating MUCH less, although she is still drinking plenty of water. I hope it's just a UTI. Instead of renal failure. And yeah, I know Jupiter is a guy name...but she came with it. When I got her I could hold her in one hand (peep!)...now I am scared.

Whoa, calm down! There are any number of reasons for decreased appetite, and usually you will see other symptoms as well with CRF. Which is also not the end of the world - Dragon is now approaching 6 months after having been diagnosed with late stage renal failure, and he is still going strong. Good luck, and check in with us on Monday after you see the vet, maybe we can help.

That's what I told the kids.  They kept asking how someone could do this.  I said that I didn't know.  But one day they will have to answer for it.  Our bird has been with us for 8 years.  I found her in my backyard.  She flew right down to me. She is a cockatiel, super friendly and well trained.  I called every pet store, vet and shelter looking for an owner.  No luck.  Then someone told me people just open the window and let them go if they don't want them anymore.  I hope this isn't true for our bird.  She would have died too.  They can't survive on their own in NJ.  I have a habit of collecting animals that need homes.

Had a huge scare today.  All the furkids are fine.  I have the day off and was out doing errands.  I was on my way home, driving one of the normal roads around here, not interstate, just a local road.  When all of a sudden a semi that had been 3 lanes over, decided he needed to turn left...and he went across all lanes of traffic into the lane where I was....and wasn't seeing anyone or anything expect that turn he was going to miss.  I got to see his wheels up close and personal as he was merging (hahahahah) into me.  Not my lane.  Me.    I realized he was being an ass and aggressive so I  was able to slam on my brakes and lay on the horn....  I should have followed him into here he was delivering stuff and gotten his number and had his ass reported.  Yes, I was almost sideswiped and hurt by a semi.  I was shaking and glad to be home.  I kept saying 'I was almost hit by a semi....I was almost hit by a semi'.

I'm glad to be home where I am safe.  I think I will do safe things now, called cleaning.

And it is story time....
I went to take my trash out earlier today (fark, it's cold out there), and also picked up yesterday's mail on my way back in. I found a scratch off card (like a lottery ticket) from a local restaurant that is a chinese/japanese/thai place (which is in the strip mall right behind my building, I have never gone there because they are kinda expensive) and I got a $15 discount! I promptly placed an order and went to pick it up (they are literally about 50 yards away - and holy shiat, it is really farking cold out!!) .... Anyway, I get home, and look in the bag, and they gave me a small soup instead of a large, and shrimp dumplings instead of dim sum - so I called them (expecting a credit on my next order) and the woman who answered could not apologize enough, and said she would fix it immediately. 6 minutes later, my bell rings, they gave me a large soup (plus more noodles) and the dim sum, and a bonus egg roll, and I got to keep the rest of the stuff (i figure I got about $30 bucks worth of food for something like $3)

Meanwhile, the point of this long-winded story is that the second piece of mail was from another local place ... and the white boy could simply not comprehend why I would not call them - since they have wings named after him ....

We had a kitty years ago that had a really bad vision problem -- she would stick her paw up on the couch and pat the cushion before she jumped up -- almost blind. But she did fine in the dark. We had those "springy" door stops and she would wake us up at 3 in the morning playing with them. We'd hear a "spong" noise and them a "blat, blat, blat, blat" as she would bat at the door stop. One morning we heard, "sprong, blat, blat, MEOW". It had sprung back and hit her in the face, had a little scape where it knocked some skin off. It was several months before she played with it again.

All of you who have taken care of, taken in and welcomed into your homes a wayward animal, an abandoned one, you are all the "kind heart" that has been heard. In this existance and the next. Your reward will be beyond telling.

Forlorn

I do not know how long.I only know it has been,Forever.I miss your scent,Your voice.Your attention.I miss being partOf your life.Always so  busy.Never enough time.I do not understand. How could you ignore me?Why didn't you take me with you?I loved you. With all my being. All my soul.I would have stayed by your side.No matter what happened.I could have lifted your spirits,Dried your face of tears.Snuggled close,Given you comfort,In the storm.Instead, I am alone,Confused.Scared.Left to die.I lay my head upon my paws,Dream of better days,As my body  slowly wastes away.I will go home,I know it now.Too soon.In the distance I hear music,Soft voices.Smell tears.I am borne up,Held once more.I hear a kind heart.Does it truelyBeat for me?Then I shall bide,A while more.tigerose 2/17/13

Those Who Haven't Bookmarked This may have already tripped over another Critter tale. Marine Corps has a new mascot, 9 week old bulldog pup Chesty (for Chesty Puller who was famous Ago).  OO-Raw(r) & Awww. Plumbicon was Army, not Marines, but we're both Butler Univ grads & Butler mascots are bulldogs.

They start the 2013 Big Dawgs Tour soon, partly in aid of Butler sports & partly in aid of restoration of the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, opened 1928. This may well be year legendary coach Paul D Tony Hinkle began his career. Close, in any case.  My late dad was one of Tony's umpty-gazillion student mgrs (basketball) in late 1930s.

laulaja: Am trying to think how to make these without buying the utensil; own a couple microwave muffin "tins" but somehow doubt trying to microwave.

I wouldn't use a microwave, but I hate microwaved food (with the notable exception of steaming something like broccoli). Part of the appeal of the aebleskiver is the stovetop cooking and you're basically frying them in the aebleskiver pan. That's why you use so much melted butter (proportionately) to batter in the recipe. I've never tried making them without an aebleskiver pan. Now you've got me wondering if I could fry them, but the old lay-deez my Gran has befriended are coming over tomorrow, so I don't really have the time to "play" in my kitchen as much as I'd like. I've got to finish prepping nibbles and I think I'll make them a caramel apple cake as well. 'Cuz talking about aebleskiver is making me want apple something. I always send each of the old lay-deez home or back to their facility with some goodies to munch on later, so I've got to pack those nicely as well.

I'm so gonna try and fry them (aebleskiver, not the old lay-deez) some day. If those state fair concessions can deep fry things like a cube of butter or kool-aid, I should be able to figure out "Americanized Aebleskiver". tee-hee!

My friend is bringing them out, her trailer and driving skills are MUCH better than mine. I have never pulled horses before. You have to be very careful how you start, stop and turn so they don't scramble for balance in the trailer. We will probably drive up to meet her in Dallas and drive her rig the last four hours to let her sleep. I am sure that they will like the warmer weather. It has been a cold winter for them. She said that they have coats like bears.

They are just all over the place, Flower popped up behind the gun nails, she was so cute with her little black and white face, then she ran as I got the camera out! She is so fast.
I will have to head out there again in a few hours. I plan to have one working bathroom by the end day. I am replacing the outlets and switches in the whole house. It is very tedious. So I just put in a few and then go out and dig the trench for the water line to the horse trough. I have 40 more feet to go, half way done!
I have to get the fence repaired and find a way to feed the boys separate because Castle is such a foodie.

I has another Alien story to share :D

So I was at my best friends place, and I got sucked into his bed of doom (seriously...his bed is ebil, you even go nears it, it sucks you and makes you honk shu for days!) and since he was making dinner he let me sleep till it was ready.

Apparently, it took him 20 minutes to wake me up.
The usual method didn't work so he started to pretend "bite" me with his fingers...
I guess I automatically thought it was Ben Hurr because he said I kept swatting him away and mumbling "Nooo Benners...lemme sleep...Benners! Benners stop it" then I started giggling in my sleep and woke myself up :3
He laughed at me the rest of the night.
Seriously...I could have sworn it was Ben Hurr it felt just like his tiny teeth :3

tigerose: I have been sewing this afternoon, but Eli just reminded me that he needs some kibbles. So I decided to pop in and see what you all have been up to. Quite a bit as it turns out!!

shortymac before we had Eli, my two cats were indoor only, and they preferred it that way. I tried harnass for them, nope, they thought grass was too icky on their tootsies. Eli on the other hand was a feral rescue, so he knows the outside and drove us nuts getting out, until we finally saw things his way. He comes when I whistle for him and he keeps some of the extra rodent population down. In fact my neighbors routinely tell him where the mice/chipmunks are, with requests to be rid of same. I think with Felines, being smaller animals, and less domesticated at first glance, it is easier to justify allowing them outside to fulfill thier hunter instincts..just my two cents! :) It is safer for them to be inside, less disease prone etc..but there is something thrilling about watching a cat race across the yard, take a flying leap and climb half up the tree, just for the fun of it!

Yeah, I would like to let my cats roam around more but we live on Toronto and I'd be worried that they would get hit by a car or something. I wish they were more like dogs and stay in the backyard.

Indoors to outdoors:
When we moved from the top floor of a low-rise in Hong Kong to an appartment in Paris, the determining factor in picking a place to live was a ground floor because we thought the cats would enjoy it. They were around 5-7years old and had only known a terrace and balcony in HK. They both enjoyed going out a lot, and was funny seeing the silly, clumbsy and cuddly one trying to act all tough and puffy when defending the place from other cats at the window...They LOVED going out from the window and one would always accompany their humans back through the lobby if it had the chance. They both had FIH though, probably by birth, possibly by the lack of feline condoms. Who knows! Both lived about 15 merry years though.

In some countries, a lot of people consider it cruel to confine your cat indoors. Some do in the US as well, but not nearly as many as I've talked to over the 'net in places like the UK. If your neighbors see your Moggie in the window and never out in the back garden enjoying a nice romp, chances are they'll think you're a big ol' meanie poopy head.

My GoGo Beastie goes out when she wants, but we live at the end of a cul de sac and she stays pretty close to home. We have a "critter highway" running through our back yard, through a little hole in our back fence, that goes into the creek area and wooded area behind our house. Every morning Go must walk the highway and sniff the shrubberies along its edge and see who passed by while she was sleeping/tearing through the house/banging on my door in the dead of night. My family and I call it "reading the news". She'll do it again after lunch and then again right before bed time. She rarely leaves our yard (and then sticks to the creek area and wooded area, so no traffic there) so I don't mind her wanting out and I go ahead and let her out. If we lived on a busy road, it would be an entirely different issue, though.

Arumat: shortymac: Okay caturday crew I have 2 issues:

1 - Downstairs Neighbors went away on a vacation somewhere about 2 weeks ago now and left their indoor/outdoor cat out, I'm not quite sure if it was intentional or not. The litter box is in the laundry room is empty and turned over. We've started to keep food out for him along with 2 possible strays/pets people kicked out. It's Canada and we've already had a blizzard so I'm worried about him. We think downstairs kitty is sleeping in the shed. Should we let him in? Hubby and I are planning to mention that we fed the kitty whenever the neighbors get back.

2 - Heidi has been licking her lower belly down right to the skin since her first flea attack in September. We got vet-strength meds and haven't seen a sign of fleas in months but she still keeps licking it clean. What do I do? She doesn't have any sores or anything.

I can give you some advice for problem #1.  Give that kitty a new home, either with you or with some friends who could use a new family member.  Also, when your neighbors come back from their vacation either give them a good punch from me, or guilt-trip the crap out of them.

I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but I am planning on guilt-tipping the shiat out of them and seeing their reaction. Hubby and I have 4 cats already so we at max cat level for a 3 bed apartment w/ roommate.

I really don't get the whole "letting cats out" thing, we don't do that with dogs or any other pets. [Dogs going to the bathroom doesn't count]. I don't know how the tradition started.

Pivot I am sorry for your loss and for your cat's grief. In time the grief softens, but until then it's darn hard, all day long. We understand. Stay, laugh, cry. It's what we are here for!!

shortymac try putting some cortizone cream on it. Eli get teh bald belleh every spring, and that is what the vet told us to use. I would glop some on just before he sat down for his gooshy food. It actually worked quite well..And kitteh may need to spend some time in the cone of shame, so she stops obsessively licking it.

And bring the cat in. You fed it, it's yours now!

I have someone to contribute for once. This is Flower. Poor cat got stuck with a stupid name from her prior owner, who more or less kicked her out in the middle of a divorce. She's an indoor/outdoor cat who's learned to knock when she wants in. Now think about that for a minute. She can knock on a door loud enough to be heard over the TV. When she gets worked up and goes to bat at you, you might not get scratches but a day later you'll be wondering where that bruise came from.

Our puppy was abandoned in a house when the owner died. The person who was supposed to be taking care of the estate came in, took anything of value, locked up the house and walked away . Luckily, the house was rented, and the owner of the house entered a week latter.
The real kicker is that when the ass who abandoned the dogs found out that the puppies were worth $500 each, and the breeding parents considerably more, he tried to claim them. He was told if he pursued ownership, they would charge him with 6 counts of felony animal cruelty. (mom, dad, and four puppies). I'm ticked they let him walk without charges.
I just hope the owner of the rental went after him for the damages caused by six dogs being locked in a house for a week.

My wife works with several rescues, and it's heart breaking the amount of abuse these people document. What's maddening is that even with good proof and documentation, most abuse cases are never prosecuted.

tigerose: CrankyAndi: 5 years ago tomorrow I met my sweet Ellie.  She rescued me.  I'm sure there are folks who think I rescued her but it really she who rescued me.

I found her on the street in my neighborhood.  She was a recent kitty mom but there were no babies near her.  She was starving and very sick.  And feral

[i112.photobucket.com image 850x637]

[i112.photobucket.com image 850x637]

For a former feral, she is a love.  It took 2 months before i could hold her.  And from there we connected.  It took 6 months till she decided she needed to sleep on my bed and I wasn't going to kill her.  Now she sleeps with me every night and snuggles next to me.

Happy Gotcha Day Ellie....(and if anyone wants to see her blog it is at  http://ellientheheathens.blogspot.com/ )

Happi Gotch Day Ellie! I am so glad that you decided to enrich CrankiAndy's life. She would not be the same without you. Her calves would be so cold in winter, there would not be that insistant soul at dinner time. You have filled a space that needed to be made whole. Thank you kitteh. You are awesome!

It is Spinnyr that sells the ded spermz. Until then, a suggestion...I make what I call "potatoes". You take the toe of a pair of pantyhose..or a knee high, I'm forever getting runs in them! Stuff it with cotton balls or batting, sprinkle liberally with da nip. Knot the end, then turn inside out and knot again. There is something about the weight of this toy and the mouth feel that really make kittehs happy. I created this toy when I was a starving college student and had a manic Siamese to amuse! Oh yes, this toy has the DragonTM Seal of approval!

What's sad is how common this happens. We've taken in so many cats left behind when people lose their homes. We took in a litter of kittens that a landlord found in the closet a few days after his tenants moved out. Luckily he checked the house when he did or the kittens would have died in there,. I don't know why people just can't bring them to a shelter or rescue instead of leaving them behind to die. I don't know if you were here when we had Vanna. Her family lost their home, moved out and left her there, pregnant. She was starved until a neighbor found her and gave her to us.

Yup. I've rescued more than one cat locked inside apartments in the past. I "allegedly" broke into the one right next door to me many years ago to rescue two cats abandoned by the farkwads who had just moved out. Also, my GoGo Beastie was probably from a family that lost their home. When we first saw her, she was horribly skinny and obviously scared of everything (which she still is - skittish, not skinny). When I finally managed to catch her and get her to our vet, she was chipped, but the information was all bad. We had a lot of foreclosures in our neighborhood back then, so we think she was left behind, probably with half their furniture. That kind of thing just ticks me off so much. We're talking white hot anger when I see animal abuse or neglect. I have a hard time controlling my temper when it goes, too. You simply do not treat another living creature that way - that's incredibly dishonorable behavior. GRRRR!

But hey! I gotz a purty kitteh out of it! Four years later, she's lookin' good and my usually happy Pretty Pretty Princess, even if she is still skittish and the weirdest cat I've ever been slave to - which is saying a lot.

Now, a cat who is either singing to us or praying no other kittehs go through the nightmares the poor abandoned kittehs everywhere go through when betrayed that way by their own hoomins.

LMAO!!  Upping the ante, eh?  SPERMZ!!!

How on earth could anyone resist teh ded spermz!

.....and a shaved pussy.
[i211.photobucket.com image 640x531]

Is this shaving thing a permanent solution to his horrible hairballs???

Well....it was either that or Nair.

Actually, he seems like he's into it. It makes him look like a little kid again.
[i211.photobucket.com image 640x548]

Is that going to be a full-time solution? Does he have to always be shaved?? Or is it until you and the vet can come up with something else? Just curious.... loves me some Sweet Biscuit! :D

We plan on keeping him trimmed. Between that and laxatone a couple of times a week that should keep the gut clogging hairballs at bay.
The vet had no other suggestions. They couldn't find anything else wrong with him. There's a holistic vet nearby that we may visit if we feel he's still having hairballs issues. In this case I think a holistic approach might be the best way to help him.

I rang up cuz I got me Verizon cell & can do long distance free gratis. Since El Damon was able to leave all 16 at the Vet Care Ctr, bet he's gone home to collapse. Wonder if he'll even dare to go to work tomorrow!
Plumbicon was out doing Singing Valentines all day, 8AM-6PM. Then he tore into my new camera to try to retrieve the coaching vids from my chorus (no luck yet). Also no saving space! Had to attach outboard drive bought for PDFs of chorus music library, not yet begun. But MicroCtr always has drives on sale it seems, so oughta be able to Buy Another furr Intended Purpose soon.
Oh, sorry haven't the foto from his phone of a Leonberger dog where one of the numerous Valentines was delivered. Lovely furry girl ... this foto's from Wikipedia & is a female.  Males have a lion-y mane by design.  Leonberg is in Baden-Wurttenburg province of Germany, which bet I mis-spelt.

Shaving only temp solution as Biscuit's Fur Grows Back. Yakko looks only a little furrier than that normally, he's one of Furrnandina's sons.  Clipped Wakko with scissors few days ago to remove drooley mats, he's now much better.
Well, reigning, FCC'll be after me too, but I got an excuse cause I'm licensed as N8CGM by them!

My daughter's (30th!) birthday today. Yikes. When your child is turning 30, you know you're gettin' up there.

Just wait til she turns 50! I will be Nifty 50 this year..My Mom insists I cannot be that old! Because that makes her older.. :) My son will be 19 this year. I still remember seeing him in the operating room! There is joy in them thar years!

She was the first baby born in our town's health center. More of a walk-in care/clinic, it is far from a 'hospital'. The OB told us "We can have this baby here in my office (it was 6am) or quite possibly in an ambulance en route to Bangor or Blue Hill."

We looked at each other and said "here sounds good". She was born an hour later.

This in my India. She was found abandoned in a house with 25 cats and only a pizza left on the floor. A couple of rescues got in and rescued them and split the cats between them. She had been at the shelter for several years becuase a) she's a black cat and b) she's very shy.

However, as you can now tell, she's a camera whore :)

Google the vet:   Southwest Florida Veterinary Care Center .. They don't seem to have a web page, though...  I'd do it, but let's just say that it'd be better received from someone not having imbibed in bioze tonite...
