Nerve/reflex damage?

That's bizarre. I've never seen a cat use its back legs like that.

Our cats do this every now and then, usually when a back foot gets wet or has something stuck to it. I've never seen it done just to get attention, though. This cat's had some proper positive reinforcement.

Put a piece of scotch tape on their paw.

Not that I've ever done that.....

Golly!

I love it when animals communicate. I felt relief when the cats were finally let in.

We have a cat that will sit on top of one of his toys and thump his leg like that, but not as quickly.

We think he is imitating the 'disembowel your prey' move.

My cats do that too, but they seem to be moving the toy around so they can chase it with their front paws. It usually ends with them falling over.

My cat just reaches under and rakes his claws across the bottom of the door.   He's wearing a groove from one side of the door to the other.

My cat does something similar.  He reaches under the door and grabs the door stop (metal springy thing attached to the bottom of the door), pulls it back as far as he can and releases it.  It makes the most god awful noise you can imagine.  So then you open the door to let him in, and he hides under the bed to attack your ankles when you get up.  Evil bastard.

Wow, that would be annoying.  I'm glad my door stops are attached to the wall!

You know what would fix this? A hose.

Not with my parents Mainecoon.  The thing is fascinated by water.

It runs to the tub and reaches up wanting you to turn on the faucet for it.  Knows that you need to turn the knob to get the water out, heh.
