I was all kinds of angry that I wasn't told about these. But they look kind of weak. I need one with at least a 12 inch wing span and at least one nerf missile.

Look, no matter how hard well meaning liberal parents try, you're not going to stop little boys from playing war and pretending to kill each other.

And that's because human beings are fundamentally awful creatures.

Most drones don't even carry weapons.

It's funny how the word "drone" have become sort of vague shorthand for evil.  Sort of the way that "profiling" has come to mean "racial discrimination" or something like that.

The reviews for the toy are kind of funny, but ultimately filled with the sort of whiny derp about "drones murdering people" that basically boils down to "I want to go back to the good old days of saturation bombing."

duffblue: Being your President for the last decade has taught me that Americans are perfectly fine with having their rights taken away, but it has to be done gradually, and the most "extreme" elements of society need to be targeted first before we can work our way down. So, we started with illegally spying on "suspected terrorists"; then, illegally detaining foreign "suspected terrorists"; then, illegally detaining domestic "suspected terrorists"; then, killing off foreign "suspected terrorists" without evidence; and now we're at the point of killing off domestic "suspected terrorists" without evidence or due process. The next step is redefining what classifies one as a "terrorist", which is already underway. Reading into the philosophy of anarchism? You're probably a "terrorist". Interested in exposing animal cruelty on factory farms? You're probably a "terrorist". Support Occupy Wall Street? You're probably a "terrorist". Care about the environment? You're probably a "terrorist". Want to end the wars? Yep! You're probably a "terrorist". Who isn't a "terrorist", you ask? That answer is simple: if you support the policies of four-term President George W. Obama, pay your taxes, support the system and stay out of my Administration's way, you're probably not a "terrorist". Compliance is patriotic, citizen. Anything short of that only emboldens the evildoers and helps the "terrorists" win.

Imma let you finish, RQ-1 toy, but the Scan-It Checkpoint toy is the best Amazon Big Brother toy of all time.

ecx.images-amazon.com
If you're a parent, then you've probably been struggling with how to teach your kids about how much fun it is to have your rights systematically stripped from you. Kids today always seem to be whining about freedom and their "Constitutional Right" to be free of warrantless search and seizure and their "right to privacy" (whatever that is). Teaching them to be afraid of "the terrists" and explaining that Islamofascists are a monolithic, unified entity with the sole goal of destroying America because they hate us for our freedoms, so we owe to it eliminate as many freedoms as possible, is really hard. And don't get me started on the times they say, "Daddy, you mean six ounces of liquid in one bottle can blow up a plane, but two three ounce bottles can't??"

Well, now there's a toy to help change all that. Kids can become familiar with the process of search and arbitrary seizure of dangerous items like toothpaste, soda, and aftershave (or TSA). The attention to detail on this toy is great. Notice the Homeland Security Threat Level Advisory glued to the side. See how tiny green and blue are? You'll never need them, because we live in an orange world. That's right, the terrists are right around the corner, maybe under your bed! This will keep a constant, low-level feeling of fear instilled in your kids, just like DHS wants!

For added fun, buy this toy with the TSA Officer Gloves McJellyfinger action figure.

I'm one of the libbiest libs who ever libbed a lib, but I don't understand why people are upset over toy drones? Do they object to toy airplanes as well?

Little boys are always going to want to play war. Before there were plastic M-16s there were aluminum six-shooters. Before that there were wooden swords. Before that they were probably pelting each other with acorns or something.

Trying to stop them does nothing to address real-world violence.

i don't know about you, but many people DO just seem to be reacting to the word drone.  There was a guy in another thread who told me that we should send comandos to conduct these targeted killings instead of drones because the drone attacks are making pakistanis hate us.

Obviously it was the "drone" part that he had a problem with, not so much the "targeted killing" part.

What scale is that? It could be a good GI Joe accessory. Later this year Hasbro is releasing a previously cancelled Cobra Data Viper figure that will include an unmanned drone. Matchbox also has a drone plane in their Sky Busters series, but it is not modeled after a specific real life model.

I think it's because they are new.  Some people just fear change, and this is a different way of doing things.  Plus, since it's new, media can drum up more controversy.  I keep seeing things about drones accidentally killing civilians... but I DON'T see statistics on "collateral damage" for drones vs. manned aircraft.

Now, if you're looking for a moral argument I've got one:

It lowers the cost of war, thus making war more likely.  No one wants to send their kid off to die, but if you just send a drone over there's no real risk.

That said, I'm pretty sure the kind of people who start wars don't really care that much about human life anyway... so it might not actually affect their decision making at all.  Hell, if the drones are expensive it might even have the reverse effect! ;)

Nice... that Devastator is awesome looking but what the #*&^#$ with these prices... this is molded plastic... it's ridiculous.. mass production and actual material used probably would make them cost 5$.

I have a few Soul of Chogokins (Grendizer, Mazinger Z, and a few others...).  Those are serious workmanship but still pricy.  If you've never seen these and like robots... you'll pop your pants probably... so at your own risk.

My Transformers collection is more related to Robotech / Macross than actual Transformers.  I like the planes (and some wheeled vehicles) that could be piloted.

The number of Robotech/Macross toys are too limited, there's just so many variants of the same planes and ships that I can have.  I'm just still sitting and waiting for that live action movie that has been in the works for a few years (but not a single word since).

the ones i linked are made by small groups. the price is reflective of casting costs, licensing fees, materials coat (they use resin), the exchange rate, import fees and mark up bbts has.

what's funny is it looks like takahara toys (big japanese company) designs all of the transformers now, which might explain why the toyline has gotten so much better lately.
