Mangoose: But they'll list Bonds by name?

Rose was "convicted" and "sentenced" by MLB. Bonds has not been. That's the logic, I guess.

It's retarded - Rose is the record-holder, ban or no - but think about this: when was the last time Topps was in the news?

// it's high time we put Rose in the hall
// complete with a diagram of exactly how douchey and rule-breaky he's been since 1980
// and don't have a ceremony (keep the "ban" on him as Ambassador of the Hall - hell, create a special designation of "legendary but dumbass" just for him if that's what it takes)

Does this mean baseball cards have increased in value, and are now at least equal to the value of dog shiat?

I think all coaches should be  requiredto bet on their own team. No less than 15% of their income per game. Pete Rose was a visionary, not a criminal.

THIS to all of the above. Although they'll have to build a new wing in Cooperstown for 'legendary but dumbass' if everybody who qualifies is included.

If Topps omitted every player that was a cheating slime, a thug, or just an all around douchebag, they would only be able to print a half dozen cards.

Card number 309, Endy Chavez: "CAREER CHASE: With 100 stolen bases, Chavez is 1,306 away from Rickey Henderson's all-time record of 1,406."

Chavez turned 35 last week. I wouldn't hold my breath on him getting there.

I still say the ultimate poetic justice would be admit him into the HoF the day after he dies and never tell him you're going to do that.

I think the ultimate poetic justice would be to put his chance of getting into the HoF on a horse race.

Ohhhh, I like that. Maybe combine ours ... let him pick the horse, and then not tell him if it won or not.

Ultimate Poetic Justice™ would be if Bud Selig dies before Pete Rose does and the next MLB Commissioner allows Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame just to piss on Selig's "legacy".

While Bud is a douchebag, Pete admitted he bet in the cheesiest way possible (a book where he whines about not being allowed into baseball because he broke one itty bitty rule) and then Pete upped the douche level to 9.9 by releasing the book the week of the inductions that year.

Wait, Topps has a monopoly now?

And I'll be fine with never seeing UD again.  They were responsible for the hobby's bubble, and why packs went from $.50 to $3 in a few short years.

/I wanted complete sets of players, not the stupid farking "game worn jersey" chase inserts

CSB time: When I was 8 years old, I was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and Pete Rose was my favorite player. I was also an avid card collector and I wanted a Pete Rose autograph. So I send a letter to him at Riverfront Stadium c/o the Reds with a card in the letter. A few weeks later, I got a letter back from him and the card I had included in the letter a sent with Pete's autograph on it. I still have that card in a frame and is the only possession I still own from when I was a kid. I do not care if he did bet on baseball, he was a great player, and not because he was the most physically gifted, but he put his heart and soul out there on the diamond every time he competed and he will always be my all time favorite player. He did not have to take the time to write me back, but he did and that means more to me that any scandal.

Go Charlie Hustle, scew Topps!

When do we start lobbying for Rush to be inducted into the MLB HoF?
