shoegaze99: Bareefer Obonghit: Leech was in DoFP, but I mostly posted this just to laugh thinking of Dinklage as him.

Was that in the cartoon version? 'Cause in the comics, at least, DoFP predates the Morlocks by about two years, and I think Leech by about three. Only ever saw bits and pieces of the cartoons.

I think he was retconned into it later by Marvel trying to capitalize off of the original with newer books. He was older but still creepy.

ha-ha-guy: stupiddream: He's the Warwick Davis of the 2010's and a better actor to boot.  He's great in everything I've seen him in.  And I'll probably be bashed for it but I'd like to see him in a remake of Willow.

When I go back and reread GoT, Dinklage is the only actor from the show that jumps into my mind as actually being his character.  The others are good, but Dinklage really defines nailing it.

Re-read GoT? I'm halfway through the 5th book and I have absolutely no desire to slog through the previous 4000 pages. I'd rather read Ulysses.

This movie is going to be awesome. Best storyline too and it ties in to Young Magneto's story very well and his desires.

Days of Future Past?  Wat?

Also - what the hell is X3?

Is that the movie that I watched and then had to go punch a bunch of babies to forget?

Supposedly George RR Martin wrote the character of Tyrion with Peter Dinklage in mind.

I won't bash you for it, but I will point out that Peter Dinklage is too old to play Willow.

Marisyana: Supposedly George RR Martin wrote the character of Tyrion with Peter Dinklage in mind.

A Game of Thrones was published in 1996, so it was finished some time in 1995 (and was started in 1991).

Peter Dinklage's first role was in 1995, in a tiny independent film that almost no one saw, in which he had a tiny, cliched role. He had a few small roles after, but didn't have any wide recognition until 2003 with The State Agent.

So the timeline makes that story about as likely as Peter Dinklage joining the NBA as a point guard.

Leech seems more likely to me than Puck.

FTFA - an excellent film and a role written specifically for him that was designed to go against traditional types for little people

FTFY.

I'd pay good money to see Dinklage and Verne Troyer in tag team match against zombie Hervé Villechaize and the ghost of Billy Barty.

What? Is that not politically correct?

I would guess Puck, too, especially if they are going for the era of "Days of Future Past," right at the creative peak of all the X-comics. Though he didn't really figure in the original story, the character was created by John Byrne, who developed Alpha Flight and was the artist on X-men at the time.

I really liked The Station Agent

If it does end up being Puck, his biatching and moaning about the movie might end up being more entertaining than the movie itself.

padraig: stupiddream: He's the Warwick Davis of the 2010's and a better actor to boot.

He's a FAR better actor.

Warwick Davis is a dwarf who became an actor by chance.

Peter Dinklage is a great actor who just happens to be a dwarf.

He was by far the best thing about "Find me guilty".

I liked him best when he was called Jordan Prentice from In Bruges

He seems to be a true actor. I hope things go better for him than the standard little actor in Hollywood story.

Puck's a stupid character w/a stupid power.  "Oh, all of his limbs are exactly the same length so he can somersault really fast!"  Yeah, Dinklage isn't about to play a character who's main power is basically dwarf-bowling.

Besides, Puck wasn't even in Days of Future Past, unless he's in one of the background shots of the Mutant Ghetto.  Even Uatu wouldn't make much sense, since Fox would have to buy rights to the character from Marvel.  And I doubt Marvel's going to let go of any more characters ever, even in a limited release.  All those deals were made when they were near-bankruptcy.

No, it'll either be a new character or the face of the Sentinels.

Peter Dinklage is a great actor.  He just happens to be a hobbit.  He could play any role.

For realz.

It's why you have James McAvoy AND Patrick Stewart cast for Xavier, and Michael Fassbender AND Ian McKellen cast as Magneto.

What?  It was one of the first in popular culture to do a time traveling story right.  It even predated "Back To The Future," and was the inspiration for other time-traveling stories we are familiar with today, including "Heroes" and possibly "Terminator."   They deserve to tell this story.

It's also one of the best X-men plot arcs. It encapsulates their struggle for acceptance and equality. It asks you to examine prejudice and bigotry. Really great read. Even if you throw in time travel.

Betcha he's going to be Roger Bochs, aka "Box" from Alpha Flight.

When they want to reboot "House M.D.", make Dinklage the lead.

They call it a "Key Role", so it's obviously not Puck.  He could pull off the Watcher though.

I've never read the comics.  I just read "time travel" and got scared, but if it's well done, bring it on!

Years ago, I watched "The Station Agent" when it first came out. I kept thinking to myself that, not only was Dinklage amazingly hot, but he was such a good actor..pity there aren't good roles for four foot tall hot excellent actors.

I'm delighted at the turn his career has taken. He was high-larious in "Elf", amazing in GoT, and I'd even go watch X-men to see what he does in that.

2013-02-14 05:07:43 PM
The Avengers was so good, I really doubt anyone is going to want to watch another stupid X-Men movie ever again.

Also, wow it's so original to take everyone's favourite actor from Game of Thrones and add him to your crap movie in an attempt to get people to watch it. Tell ya what, throw in Jack Huston or Anatol Yusef, and I might just download the screener off Pirate Bay one weekend when we've got nothing to do.

Days of Future Present > Days of Future Past.

That is all.

Just for the record, Dinklage has achondroplasia which is fairly common. Billy Barty had cartilage hair hypoplasia, which Verne Troyer also has. Warwick Davis has Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita which is rare. There are many different types of dwarfism that manifest in different ways.

imontheinternet: OniExpress: I'm hoping for Uatu...  I aldo don't really see him signing on to be "the super-dwarf".

Dinklage is in a unique position.  If you have a part for a dwarf in a blockbuster, you need him to play it, but he's not going to take it if the role demeans dwarves.  He's got Hollywood by the balls at this point.

To grab anything higher up he'd need a stepladder.

Let me join the multitude in singing Dinklage's praises. Also, I won't disparage W. Davis. The man is far funnier than people give him credit for. Good guys who deserve good things.

He was really funny in that episode of 30 Rock.
