I just want to point out that they are doing some awful deforestation in Indonesia, so I hear. Wikipedia says at the current rates, all rainforest could be logged out within 10 years. The third most biologically diverse forests, after the Amazon and Congo. Old growth being burned to the ground so they can build plantations and industry. Sorry to buzzkill, but I wonder what could really be done to stop this. If the US government put some pressure on them, that would probably work, but it's unlikely. You may now carry on with posting funny owls and such.

Fun fact: Indonesia customs laws ban travelers from bringing anything written in Chinese on flights into Bali (and I assume the rest of Indonesia as well).

We used to have the guy who we called "The Bird Guy" come in from the Phoenix Parks and Wildlife service, I don't care what you say --- the great horned owl was the most inimiditing damn animal I've ever seen in my life. It would make petbulls run into homes and cats scratch at doors.

I swear to god, that bird was all looking at us one way, then his head did a 180, but his face seemed more serious. I was weighing in his head, how much a fourth-grader would we, If he needed to take one. It was scary and it was impressive, all at the same time. The guy had "rescued" the owl from a neighborhood in central phoenix where the cats wouldn't even go outside. It was all very impressive.

Owls are just wise-looking birds. They're fierce farking predators. I don't screw with owls, and neither do my grandmother's ancesctors, nor do the apaches. There's a reason, and it's not superstitious. Those are scary farking claws from the sky!

Fun fact: Indonesia customs laws ban travelers from bringing anything written in Chinese on flights into Bali (and I assume the rest of Indonesia as well).

Another fun fact: Indonesia won't let you go snoop around in West Papua because they don't want people to know how badly they are screwing the people there.
