Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?

2013-02-13 06:00:12 PM
Kid one had 19000 from the first day and 14400 going into FJ last night. He could have ended up with 47800, by betting 14400 in FJ and getting the question correct.

Kid two had 17600 from the first day and 9000 going into FJ. He maxed out, with 35600.

Leroy Jenkins came in with just 3000. He certainly had to biggest potential, at 77000 (two times 37000, plus 3000), but he was certainly not guaranteed a win a 0 bet in FJ (37000 plus 0 plus 3000, or 40000).

In fact, if kid one had gotten the correct answer, his 7000 wager would have won him the tourney. 14400 plus 7000 plus 19000 is 40400, 400 more than the 40000 Leeeeeeeeeroy Jeeeeeeeenkins had.

Although he kicked a lot of ass doing that, my favorite answer still has to be for this question:  "This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker"

The barely contained rage of Alex Trebec can be a beautiful thing.

When he said  "That's what I love about these Teen tournaments.  The kids always have such a delicious sense of humor."  all I could picture was Grumpy Cat with a machine gun.

The second day of this tournament finale was preempted by the SOTU address last night so it's being televised here today. Even though I knew I'd see a spoiler, I had to watch the clip. I'm glad he won. We were cheering for that kid because we liked his 'fro, but we were also cheering for the Indian kid because he's only a freshman. That kid in the middle seems like such a smug ass, it's really hard to root for him.

I'm always amazed at the breadth and depth of knowledge that these kids have. I'm especially impressed that so many know a lot about subjects that aren't taught in school such as sports, television, music and other pop culture.

You can quickly correct yourself if Alex hasn't yet ruled against you.  Sure, he still took  a while, but the teen tournament they give a crapton of leeway.

Holy shiat, I didn't even think of a rabbit punch.

Yes, a rabbit punch is a foul attack in boxing.

The amazing thing is that Leonard lost his semifinal (barely) - the only reason he was in the finals is that all three contestants in another semifinal wagered it all and got Final Jeopardy wrong ending up with $0 all around, leaving an extra spot open. Only time it's happened in tournament play.
