Are you happily engrossed in inconsequential cartoon trivia to the point that your socks can probably stand up by themselves?

Well, those self-immolating monks will be happy to know that I disagree with Yakko.

Oh, and bravo. That was probably the most apt (or meta) comment I've ever been witness to.

Good for him. He was just as much a major part of the show as any other character. If the studio made money off of him , and he had a contract, then they can fork over some of it.

Karma payback for appearing in Three fine Twilight Zone episodes. It would be nice if he picked up a replica of Boss Hogg's car, or a close replica of Daisy.

I've learned to thank The HUB network for me and my son spending time together watching these awesome cartoons. Hell he loves the Geography song and now interested in learning about countries.

He was an Executive Producer, and it was co-produced by his production company, and it ran for 6 seasons, and went into syndication. Thereupon followed the inevitable bald-faced lying from Viacom/Paramount TV/CBS as to how profitable the show was.

Am I the only one surprised James Best is still alive? Delighted, of course, but surprised.

Maybe because every time I get nostalgic for that show I get...sidetracked.

Dukes of Hazzard cast members still make appearances in costume (pics) much like Adam West and Burt Ward did as Batman and Robin until Warner Bros. made them stop.

I'm glad to hear this. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr Best at a Dukes of Hazzard event several years ago. He had rules about what he would and would not sign because of this lawsuit, but he was very nice about it. He had lots of merchandise on sale for reasonable prices, and he would sign any of that. As I recall, that's all you had to pay to get his autograph, he didn't charge a fee. Plus he was all dressed up in his Rosco costume, and playing the character for everyone. It was adorable. I love to see an actor embrace an iconic role like that, instead of acting like they're too good for it.
