Actually it's "Ser". He's edgy and original, you know.

[citation needed]

I like college basketball more than the NBA, but the quality of college basketball has been eroding for a decade now.

Naturally he's getting fined by the NBA for his remarks like any white player would, right?

This is a trick question since Garnett has a habit of only picking on point guards like Jose Calderon.

We either need to shun using the word for everyone or simply make it acceptable for everyone to say. That is all.

I think it's reasonable to believe that if a white player were to call an opponent the n-word, he would get fined. I mean, it's usually considered to be equally, if not more, taboo than the gay slur that Kobe Bryant was fined for. I know my statement is based off conjecture, because as far as I know no white basketball player has yet been caught saying the n-word. Basically, my point (stated in a far less competent way) is the same as belome's:

When black people bring whites into a country as slaves and abuse them for centuries, and continue to discriminate against them after the white slavery has finally ended, then those white people can reclaim a word used by their former black slave masters and do whatever the hell they want with it, while blacks will be forbidden to use it. Seems fair, right?

Until then...

What?

Or it's because most of the people you run into on Xbox live are under the age of 30, so it's the same as saying dude. It's not your dreaded "n-word" (*insert massive eyeroll here)

Bullshiat. There's two stances for that word: either you have a problem with it being used regardless of who says it, or you have zero problems with it being used, regardless of who says it.

There is no middle ground. There is no "well THEY can say it, but they can't." Any defense using that argument is bullshiat.

I'm white and there are so many things I enjoy because of it. I don't get harassed by cops. I can strike up a conversation with just about anyone anywhere and people are generally pretty friendly.

But, man, I just feel like something is missing because I can't use the n-word. My life would just be complete if I could use it. 'Hey, my nubian, how's the weather up there?' 'You're a pretty awesome attractive and successful African American, my friend. Do you play basketball?' 'I have many attractive and successful African American friends. How dare you accuse me of racism!'

Why can't I just say attractive and successful African American?

Get a black roommate. He can grant you one use of it per year, but if the use is awesome enough, he can grant you one additional use.

When I was in high school in the 70's, I was hanging around with a couple neighborhood kids, one white one black. They started pushing each other and yelling back and forth "N****r", "Honky" (it was the 70's). Right when I thought I was in the middle of my first racial incident, they fell all over the place laughing hysterically. I'm pretty sure MLK's dream of judging a man by the content of his character came, lasted about 5 minutes, and went away with nobody noticing.

Not a big deal. He says that ALL the time. This is like the 5th time this season I've heard it. My friends and I listen for it.

Bullshiat. If I was running up and down that court playing ball, and I call KG "nubian", it wouldn't matter if he was my best friend in the world when that video got out. I'd be all over YouTube and broadcast TV, crucified for being a racist. It still is the "dreaded n-word", even if that's not the meaning the speaker wants. It's just not a socially acceptable word.
