To be fair...there are probably tons of blank spaces in the school for the Atheists.

I wonder if it's white, blond, blue-eyed Jesus.

I like my false idols extra false.

Is it this picture?

Because I don't think that Jesus should be around school children either.

Maybe the school could find something less obvious than a portrait...

The Bruce Dickinson: freeforever: No one in this thread is arguing against a portrait of Mohammed.  If students want to hang his portrait then they should have the right.

If the portrait was of Muhammed, this thread would be on fire!

You're full of holy excrement and you know it!

Charles Manson would look good hanging there...very inspirational I would think...or maybe Stalin.

That's pure conjecture; an assumption based on something that hasn't happened.  But I am happy you liken a potrait of Jesus to one of the greatest mass-murderers of the 20th century.  Puts things in perspective.

ChrisDe: Despite what Fox News will tell you, kids can pray in school, too. The teacher just can't lead it.

And then there is this.

As long as there are multiple choice tests, there will be prayers.

Glancing Blow: Put a picture of Martin Luther King next to it; stand back; watch brains melt.

Off topic, but you reminded me of something hysterical on Jeff Ross's show last night (not a sentence you're going to see every day). He compared Oprah to MLK, but "the cracker that's going to kill her is covered in Cheez-Whiz."

The Courthouse in Cumberland co TN has a statue of the Flying Spaghetti Monster on its ground from where some ACLU troll tried sueing then they said they would gladly put up any statue that any religious group wanted to pay for.

That's seriously cool. I would totally show up in Pirate gear and hang Angel Hair Pasta on the statue to show my devotion. Throw grated cheese on passerby to bless them. Ritually slaughter jars of Ragu before the statue to please my God.....

Jesus continues to not give a fark. Though his dad thinks these people are getting pretty close to idol worship.

I would consider doing so, but it's gonna take me at least 20 minutes to parse that first sentence of yours. That's all the free  time I have in a day.

factoryconnection: This was a news snippet and didn't satisfy.  I'm sure there is an article out there with a picture of the portrait and maybe more background info.  Off to teh Googles...

Oh, wait: TFA has a link to a more informative article.
