TheNyquilKid: The Muthaship: What kind of parents sent their kids to Big Bear on a science trip during the f*cking manhunt?

Parents of kids who want to be forensic scientists.

Well played.

Supes: cretinbob: Somacandra: but no one on the ground is confirming it.

Yes, so all we know is a black guy tried to steal a truck and somehow ended up in a firefight with poice.
Now that I say that out loud, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but I'm sure there is more that I missed.

If it's someone else, they sure chose the worst possible day to be black and steal a truck.

And the worst possible place.  If I were even REMOTELY black (or even that might not help given what happened) and anywhere NEAR that area, I wouldn't want to BE IN a pickup truck, much less try to steal one.

King Something: sandi_fish: Peaceboy: He's in the Seven Oaks area.  He would have had a much better chance hiding in Thousand Oaks.  Hell, even Twenty-Nine Palms.

There are no African Americans in Thousand Oaks, he'd stand out.

I think the joke is that he'd have an easier time hiding in a forest with 1,000 oak trees, or a clearing with 29 palm trees, than he would have hiding amongst seven oak trees.

I know, I just added that for snark.

Alunan: He apparently isn't in the cabin? He escaped....

OMG HE'S A WIZARD!

Shiat, this is getting serious. A guy just walked in here and offered me a red pill or a blue pill.

2013-02-12 05:42:51 PM
Joe Pickett found him?

2013-02-12 05:43:00 PM

Great Janitor: I'm not expecting him to be captured until some time in May, and then in late September the next season can focus on his escape from prison.

That sounds awful. In fact it sounds like that situation could stretch four seasons, and each season would be progressively much worse. Worst of all, Michael Rappaport would get involved.

2013-02-12 05:43:06 PM

BronyMedic: some_beer_drinker: there is a conspiracy?

Plenty of them have come out of this event. The best one I heard on FARK was that Dorner is completely innocent and just trying to save himself. The LAPD actually capped Quan and her boyfriend to frame him, and the third cop just shot himself to fake the incident.

That's some Alex Jones level crazy right there.

Alunan: He apparently isn't in the cabin? He escaped....

Just in terms of the story that would be amazing if true.

Let this man do his job! He needs details!

Alunan: He apparently isn't in the cabin? He escaped....

If that's true, the cops have some serious egg on their face.  Hundreds of cops, multiple road blocks, 2 cops in the hospital and nothing to show for it?

Ouch.

This is the pick-up truck seen outside of Big Bear.

No no no no, you've got it all wrong. This is the bear seen (just) outside the big pickup truck:

flucto: Scanner's gone dead. WHAT'S HAPPENING?

Maybe scene communications switched to an internal channel to keep anyone - like Dorner - from listening in?

Coco LaFemme: Please save that stupid FARK me-me for someone else.

Sorry, pet peave

I wish I was a criminal in Big Bear right now.  You could rob a bank and stroll down the middle of the street with two bags of money and you'd get away.

They're standing around chatting. Nothing's going to happen until sundown when they enter with the sun immediately behind them.

Hostages?

2013-02-12 05:44:08 PM

Cyno01: Evil Mackerel: KarmicDisaster: They have enough help! Every cop in California must be headed up there.

Time for crime.

Hell yes, i would go rob a bank right now if i lived in LA.

I remember a story when, in 2004, Bush and Kerry were campaigning in the same small town in Iowa.  Needless to say, everything that resembled law enforcement was protecting one or the other.

Of course, somebody robbed every bank in town while this was happening.

...and now I really can't wait for the new season of "Longmire".

2013-02-12 05:44:14 PM
What if this was entirely performance art? A giant, orchestrated street theater with the eyes of the world upon it. Someone paid the City of LA a billion dollars to orchestrate this, and at the end, Dorner and the LAPD take a bow, and "so you thought we were out of idea?" flashes across the screen.

Klippoklondike: Alunan: He apparently isn't in the cabin? He escaped....

Inconceivable!  He may have escaped the cabin, but the police resources within a half mile radius of there are going to be epic.

Supes: If it's someone else, they sure chose the worst possible day to be black and steal a truck.

yes. I think it's highly unlikely it's someone else, but damn you'd have to be stupid to do somethin g like this if you weren't

I'm guessing that they spotted the vehicle and a chase ensued with him crashing and running.

well 200+ cops getting ready to rock and roll that mountain.

Plus a bunker buster squad getting called in.

doczoidberg: I know this guy is a murderer and everything, but...

I kinda like him.

Every day this guy is alive, the more the LA bigshots sweat. He knows too damn much to be allowed to live.

"I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world ... without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries; a world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you. " -- Neo

Supes: NameDot: Now is a good time for a crime spree in Big Bear

Except for all the bored cops on the ground with nothing to do. Really, the best place if you're so inclined is anywhere in else San Bernardino except for Big Bear.

Good point, gladr I refreshed before I got out the door

2013-02-12 05:45:04 PM
I don't know that any of the cops can take this guy out. I mean Christopher Dorner, the devil himself! How do you shoot the devil in the back...what if you miss?

Geotpf: .

Yup.  He now looks less like a evil mastermind murdering asshole and more like...just a murdering asshole.  Setting the truck on fire didn't make any sense unless it was a diversion.

It makes perfect sense.  Everyone thought the truck on fire was a diversion and he was somewhere else when in reality he was right by the burned truck.  Mastermind!
