Then we'll get anteaters to eat the ants. Then bobcats to eat the anteaters. Then bears to eat the bobcats. And by that time it'll be winter and all the bears will die out.

As long as they start displacing the fire ants I welcome them. Asian needle ants also sting but are far less aggressive than fire ants. I get multiple stings from fire ants every farking summer.

Ant warfare is on a level of sophistication and totality that would put our military engagements to shame.

The battle between two major argentine ant colonies have casualties at the rate of one a second. You can actually see the line of corpses that mark the boundary between the two if you know where to look.

Where are the bullet ants?  Now those are scary bastards.  Getting stung by one of those has been described as being shot with a bullet.

There wasn't one per se, but there was some talk about inbreeding the r e towards the end. If you're going to impugn the nature of Southern "breeding" I would think "inbreeding" as opposed to "overbreeding" would be the trolling technique that would get the most bites.I guess I should have been clearer, didn't mean the slur was in  the article, just the ammo for a quip about breeding.

The one nice thing about the Argentine ants here is that they don't bite humans, whereas the local species do.
