Dog food is actually pretty expensive in terms of calorie density and nutrition vs price. Is the lady in question using MY tax dollars to fund an extravagant lifestyle of dog food eating? Will she take her golden Lexus with spinning rims to the store anytime she's hungry? Taxpaying Americans want answers from the mooching class.

That's hilarious!  Wasserman's press people have to know that reporters are going to google her guest the second she's introduced.  I'm sure someone's ass is in a sling over that one.

This is also why members of both parties are hesitant to take unscripted questions.

What

is a screw-up? Even taking its smear attempt at face value, the Examiner article itself doesn't in any way refute any part of DWS's comments on the woman they put on the call.

Or is there some law in Florida that says a committeewoman can't also be on Medicare for some reason?

Is the woman on Medicare? If so, what's the prob? Who cares what her past employment was, and of course she's a Democrat. If she's not on Medicare, you have a legitimate gripe. So which is it?

"average citizen" who has a story to tell from exactly one point of view (their own) versus a well connected party puppet/puppeteer with a nack for drama and a good script.   It's a dumb move by either party.

It's one thing to have a member of the public come and say "I'm very reliant on my medicare."  It's another to take someone who is  a vested member of your political movement to deliver the same message.   Wasserman was trying to pass her off as what the media calls a an "MOS" - Man On the Street.  She's obviously a connected democrat party cheerleader.

You'd be shiatting  your pants in anger if it was a Republican who got caught doing the same thing, so don't pretend like this  wasn't a goof.  Like I wrote earlier - nothing here that refutes the democratic party's beliefs in medicare.  It's just a politician getting caught being a politician.

heh heh.....DWS gets herself in some really stupid situations. I am guessing this is true and pretty much to the point.

And she should know better - when one regularly boards the Political Express train at the Holier Than Thou Terminal, ya gotta expect the conductor is going to ask for ticket at some point. DWS is a constant target for conservative media and should expect fact checking.....on anything she says.

I don't know what goes through that woman's head sometimes. It is not like she has never dealt with the Washington Examiner before this and she has to be certain they are going to scrutinize her every word. But without fail, we continue to get the DWS disputed claims stories. Some people never learn.

Then again....this is img1.fark.net.

Philip Francis Queeg: Was anything she said about Rubio's positions incorrect?

Probably not, but that gets pushed to the side when the noise from the opposing viewpoints drowns out the signal. In this case, she wanted to make a point but that is lost (or at least diluted) with the need to respond to even a rather benign accusation.

Does it matter when the press conference about Medicare turns into a question of who the woman is and what her affiliation with the democratic party is?  It doesn't.  Again, in your odd obsession of protecting everything liberal at any cost, you lose sight of the what the story is really about - a sham "random medicare recipient" who might have to eat dog food.

And let's look at this way... it's farking florida - there are old poeple everywhere who are on medicare and don't want it cut.  I mean it's literally impossible to say "I can't find anyone to say what I need said about Medicare cuts."  So to pick someone who could be questioned for any reason when there's are pool of perfectly useful old people to choose from is just dumb.

I never said it was lie, so what's your point?  Nowhere in the story do they claim the woman isn't on medicare.  They simply point out that the press conference went south when Wasserman was shown to have brought a someone other than the person she was selling as a potential victim.

actually - in my industry I'm on the same side a Wasserman.  Unfortunately, she wasted a lot of time and earned attention by pulling this stupid stunt.

And as I noted before - it's dumb when either party does it.  You could shed your immense ego for a second and just laugh with the rest of the world instead of trying to play a semantics game that you can't win.  It's funny... relax a bit and laugh.  Obama will still be president even if you acknowledge what happened here.

We shiat all over Rick Scott at any opportunity, and deservedly so; we should do the same for any other politician with -FL after their name who tries to pull a fast one and/or opens their mouth before engaging their brain.

The cavalcade of sheer gibbering stupid, if not outright corrupt, that comes out of Florida rivals anything produced of late in New York, Louisiana, Illinois, California and New Jersey, and the only reason DWS still has a front-and-center gig is that her opposition is even stupider than she is.

The news here is that the press actually called somebody on their bullshiat  during their weaselly little conference call instead of running the sob story on page 1 and then the followup on page 28 of the Saturday paper nobody buys. Full credit for the Palm Beach Post reporter who did their farking job and didn't play court stenographer.

Look, bradkanus, it's simple. No matter who DWS got as a testimonial to demonstrate how Medicare cuts harm the elderly, the right-wing derp machine would say "That doesn't count because X". Since the range from which the derp machine can choose X is infinite, and they'd scream just as loud about it no matter how irrelevant X is to the point, the only X it makes sense to exclude are the ones which make the point  untrue.  X, in this case, doesn't make the point untrue.

It's not even impossible that this was a deliberate strategy to provoke the Examiner into derping over an irrelevant point.  The more the wingnuts yell at clouds, the more the American people will start to react as follows:

I, too, am impressed by the Palm Beach Post reporter who demonstrated that this woman lied about the Medicare cuts Rubio and other Republicans have proposed.
