This has to be the work of trolls attempting to eliminate any shred of legitimacy the Iranian government may still have.

Dear GOP, this is what countries that believe in religion more than science look like... is this really what you want our country to be? Iran will never be a serious contender for new weapons platforms (or any other science based endeavor)  as long as the powers that be insist religion is better than knowledge.

Dear firefly212,
we can always hire the smart guys to do the work for us. Sure they may have to fake being Christian, but hey you smart guys have been doing that for centuries. It is not an accident the smartest people in the world were Deist, Agnostic, or Atheist. It is not like you morons are ever going Galt.

But it can do what they say. That plane is about 5' up which is pretty low altitude "flying". You can tape a few weapon to it and probably shove a bomb or two in a cavity somewhere. And the pilot can pop the canopy to engage enemies with a rifle. It sounds pretty ready for battle to me.

Besides they're advancing technology into stealth planes. If you consider planes like the SR-71 or a U2 stealth those have been around since I think the 60's. otherwise the F-117A and stealth bomber have been around since the 80's so something. I'm glad Iran is almost progressing to the point we were at 30+ years ago.

This jet has some incredible features.  For example, the Jensen tape deck has a detachable face so if you park your plane in a bad neighborhood, you don't have to worry about someone stealing your Def Leppard tapes.

I wonder how many times that had to fly over that mountain before they managed to capture clouds that look EXACTLY like the ones in the stock image of that mountain...  man they must have been there for weeks.   I bet that plane has global range on a single tank of fuel - their engineers must be a lot better than ours.

See, look how complicated that is. The Iranians know how to simplify everything so that it's really easy to use.  Iran is like the Apple of stealth technology.  It's a user-friendly jet.  I bet a dog could fly that thing.

God, how hard is it to take two new photographs? Does the Iranian government not even have the resources to send a helicopter out to take a picture of a mountain? The composite sources should have been compiled on a computer that isn't networked. The resulting image should have been transferred via thumbdrive to a computer to put on the internet. The computer the sources were combined on should then have been destroyed.

You totally suck at this.

I don't know, FTA:

But when the picture of the jet supposedly in flight was published on the Khouz News website, eagle-eyed Iranians quickly pointed out the similarities between the image and a picture of the aircraft taken at the official unveiling in Tehran on February 2, according to a France 24 report.
Some of them seem to have an inkling.

Good question.

Some "Jet". Take a look at the ASI:

Take a look at the dope and fabric construction.

/extra emphasis on the "dope".

dittybopper: dallylamma: No aerobatics? Oh I'm sorry...I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA!

Well, he *COULD* do aerobatics if he wanted to, at least once.

a lot of the basic manuvers don't stress the plane that much, the oil and fuel systems tend to get all drippy though..

2013.uploaded.fresh.co.il

Stall speed appears to be 70 knots, and the Vne is around 260 knots.

That's about what you'd expect for a very nice, slick GA prop aircraft.

Pretty high-tech, 4th-generation stuff - that's a Thrustmaster FCS Mark II game controller they've got duct-taped to the broomhandle joystick

Mr. Burns: "Look Smithers it's the Spruce Moose! It will fly from here to the Belgian Congo on thimble full of kersosene!"

Smithers: "That's a nice model sir. "

Mr. Burns: "Who said anything about a model?"

I think they may have voided the 1 year warranty, however.

Funny, I suppose, but someone really did fly a model airplane all the way across the Atlantic Ocean on a mere quart of fuel.

That control on the joystick looks like it's off of a helicopter.

My guess is that this was built by the Iranian company that builds the knockoffs of the old U.S. F-5 design. In 1979 the firm "inherited" a factory that had previously been used to supply Bell Helicopters to the Iranian military.

I think what we are really looking at is the new feature and Tehran's Jihadland amusement park.  While we are laughing it up there is an ever growing amusement park ride gap.

That closeup of the cockpit clearly shows that Iran is getting ahead of the US in duct tape + Krylon aviation technology.

I've seen better art cars at Burning Man.

Say what you will, but they've definitely bested my rc model making skills.

yeah not really, just trying to say something nice.

firefly212: Dear GOP, this is what countries that believe in religion more than science look like... is this really what you want our country to be? Iran will never be a serious contender for new weapons platforms (or any other science based endeavor)  as long as the powers that be insist religion is better than knowledge.

I'm surprised they don't have it flying toward the World Trade Center where that dude with the backpack is standing.

Title of image: Graphic Design of the Flight of Jet Fighter Qhaher above Damavand Mountain. So yeah, obviously photoshopped, but not to fool people into thinking it can actually fly.

Dude, that ASI is a UMA single scale gauge. I mean really Iran?

Aircraft Spruce is selling aircraft parts to Iran?

Great, I've been funding a terrorist organization for the past fifteen years.

Actually, it appears to be 40-300, not the 3rd image. I think you're totally right about it being a UMA, though.

As for the instructions in English.  I believe all pilots worldwide must speak, read and write english because all air traffic control towers worldwide must use it as a universal language.  Seams like a cunning plan.  Use the most archaic spoken word on the planet.

It DOES fly! It MUST be real!
