tdyak: Just Another OC Homeless Guy: Alonjar: tdyak: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2013/02/dorner-truck-found-near - associates-property-court-records.html

Official stories about what happened are already starting to conflict with initial statements.  This whole thing is fishy.

What i find interesting, is that since the vehicle was found "near an associates property", they assume he was helped... rather than the obvious thing which is that he would have been familiar with an area someone he knew lived in, and thus chose to drive to a place he knew about.  You sure wouldnt stash your get away vehicle in a place you've never been before... how would you know the place was even there?

Stupid cops are stupid

Creating the possibility of a conspiracy allows the police to widen the net and go after anyone who might express sympathy with Dorner. Such as, for example, some idiots here on Fark. Why yes, your posting location can be traced. Please don't assume that it can never happen here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danziger_Bridge_shootings

Why do we assume he is guilty of murder?  Shouldn't he be a "person of interest" or "prime suspect", i.e., presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law?

Because it fits the narrative.

Yea, I just mean in the sense that there will be one every day where everyone just rehashes the same talking points over and over again.

This guy didn't run to Mexico.  No way.  He's still got business to attend to in his mind and it can't be accomplished there.  Asymmetrical warfare is a motherfarker.  If he just pops his head up and fires off a shot once every several months, he'll grind the LAPD's budget down to the bare metal.  Sound familiar, guys?

You know, if he showed up at my place, I'd probably let him crash for a bit.  Given his resources, he could kill me if I refuse, or harm me or my family if I called the cops on him.  Self-preservation trumps justice as far as I'm concerned.  Plus I wouldn't want cops showing up thinking my place is a hostile environment, I've seen how trigger happy they are, I'd probably report him being here 2 or 3 days after he's gone just so they know he isn't here, and he won't target me for getting them on his trail.

2013-02-12 10:58:57 AM
imagine the fun and the entertainment if all the people who the police illegally have opened fire on since this started had had guns? and tried to defend themselves?

1) we know that cops/ex-cops have started shooting at random people
2) if a cop starts shooting at you, he clearly has gone "Dorner"
3) everyone knows that the best way to defend yourself is with a gun, or calling the cops, or just staying home?

Obviously, murder is bad, but the police force shooting willy-nilly at anything remotely connected with this guy is more dangerous.

Mexico is a good move.  Likely easier to board a flight to some other part of the world from there.  Of course the problem is returning to America once the protective details are gone and launching your next strike.

Given he planned this out for years, he could have a property in some bayou in Louisiana (or anywhere else really) where he is 10 miles from civilization and when he does come into town he's just another black guy.  If he bought the property years ago, the person who sold it to him likely wouldn't connect "the dude I sold some swamp to back in 2009" to Dorner.

LAPD has no idea what kind of car he might be driving right now, what fake names he might be using, where he might have safe houses.  Assuming he has some boltholes and stays away from people he knows, he's in a good position

Also, suddenly Dorner didn't cowardly ambush those two cops like LAPD said, they were hunting for him and who knows what prompted him to open fire.  Basically LAPD made it sound like he was going to murder every cop in the city with an ambush, but that turns out not to be the case.

LAPD just finished a presser which, to no one's surprise here, added nothing. Cop spoke for a while saying nothing. Apparently, they have no idea where he is, but are following up a high number of "clues" collected since the $million reward was offered. Pretty much the only news came at the very end from the reporter, not the cop: the city of LA may throw in another $100k to the pot.

That'll do it.

Small towns would be the worst place to hide.  Everyone knows everyone else, and everything else that goes on in a small town.  Nothing happens in small towns, so any minor incident or anything unusual that happened five, ten years ago is still openly talked about and discussed on a daily basis, and people are desperate for any kind of action to happen.

--

I also want to add, the reward money is specifically for "information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of Christopher Dorner "

They can up that money to $1 billion to try and get informants, he will never make it through the trial process.

I'm guessing he is very far from CA and is letting LAPD exhaust themselves while he lays low and plans the next phase.  In fact, with the SCUBA revalation, maybe he booked it all the way to South Florida and is living on a campground somewhere, going spearfishing for food, or working as a bouncer for cash at some Miami club, or cleaning houses in Key West.  I mean, I have cousins that will make a straight 25 hour drive from Iowa to the NC coast in the summer (2 people driving in shifts), he has had more than enough time to be literally ANYWHERE in the US at this point.  I've driven 10.5 hours in a day by myself from Chicago to SW Virginia, and I wasn't even very motivated.  Hell, if he had a pickup truck loaded with gear, including some extra fuel canisters, he wouldn't have even had to stop for gas until he was east of the Mississippi.  Drive at night, obey all traffic laws, avoid anywhere that would typically have a camera (atm/convenience store), and how will they track him?

Combined with all the misdeirection he obviously left behind, I don't see how they could possibly find this guy until he surfaces again to murder another random cop, or the family members of one of his more specific grudges.  I certainly wouldn't want to be that Chupacabra lady right now, I can tell you that.

This question was asked in other threads and people accused anyone asking this of defending the murderer. I don't suspect that's your intent, and it certainly isn't mine, but just to be clear, these are two separate issues. This dangerous murderer needs to be captured or killed at once. On a somewhat related matter, the LAPD certainly has some explaining to do.

As for the new developments, this shiat just keeps getting weirder and weirder. I find it very hard to believe he had an accomplice. I mean, there are limits to what even the absolute best of friends will do for you. If a best friend calls me at 3am and needs a ride home, I'm there for them. If a best friend just killed some people, uh sorry guy, you're on your own.

Soldiers have a higher loyalty to each other, especially if the other person has shown themselves to be an overall honorable person, which this guy has up to the alleged shootings.

Litterbox: This drama is getting farking retarded.  The guy is dead.  He offed himself after burning up his truck.  If you read his "manifesto", its a giant suicide note.

He's not going to off himself directly.  His plan seems to be to keep killing people on his "hit list" until he's killed.

Mexico can't have 'regular' black people?

That's not what I'm saying. These are native Mexicans I'm speaking of, not interacial. Several years ago one of them gave me the abbreviated history lesson on this but I'll be damned if I can remember enough of it to make sense trying to type it out.

Abbreviated as far as I know: the majority of Mexicans mixed with Spanish when they came over, but certain parts of southern Mexico didn't have much interaction with the Spanish/outside world so they're generally a lot darker and shorter just cause they never got white-people genes from Western Europeans. I think a very large black man might have trouble fitting in though cause most of the ones I've run into have been generally sub-5'8" and not very large.

Lots more indigeno down there then we have up here in the states, a lot of it mixed with whites and Africans brought over as slaves. Mexicans run the gamut on skin coloration. I would agree that there is a lot of regional variation in ethnic backgrounds there, he may be better suited in some areas than others to blend in, also depends on how good his Spanish is. I suspect that as a former LAPD officer he probably learned a bit of it, but there's a big difference between "speaks fluent Spanish" and "knows how to ask where the bathroom is".

In a tourist area, he might be able to pass for an american tourist, though that sort of area would have plenty of other americans who might recognize him, his face has been plastered on the news for days now.

/I don't think he's in Mexico

Depends.  He might have friends who have their own personal beefs with the LAPD.

However, I'm guessing it is much more likely that he's a lone operation at this point.  If you don't let anyone into your plans, there's nobody to betray you to the cops.

Ummm.... there are LOTS of Blacks in Mexico. You should check out something... some source.... maybe an online database or "Search engine" if you will, of some sort..... if one were available...... about the demographics of Mexico.

CIA World Factbook: mestizo (Amerindian-Spanish) 60%, Amerindian or predominantly Amerindian 30%, white 9%, other 1%

So he'd be much better off blending in right here at home, no?

That too, but he'd probably want something to cover it up until it grew in decently.  Nothing too obvious, just a hat and obvious glasses (but not sunglasses, which would make him look like he's hiding).
