I don't hate St Patty's day subby.

I get annoyed with people who act like they are "celeberating a holiday" as a reason to get drunk.

Just get drunk and be done with it. Don't be all "it's important I drink green beer and be an annoyance to all those around me because I am CELEBRATING A HOLIDAY".

/yes I know people who actually say that
//not irish

Valentine's Day is the worst holiday. It makes people happier who are already happy, and makes people sadder who are already sad.

St. Patrick's Day is a great holiday. It's become a springtime "Octoberfest".

I vote that we cancel Valentine's this year and just have 2 St. Patrick's days.

The Stealth Hippopotamus: Who hates Saint Paddy's day?

Actually, I doubt many really "Hate" St. Patty's day, just less people "observe" or "celebrate" it in some way than most other "major" holidays.   As opposed to V-Day, which if you don't celebrate it, you probably hate it... it is the Dallas Cowboys of holidays.

Klivian: This is the first Valentine's Day I will actually have been in a relationship for. Given that we are taking a long weekend in Florida starting on the 15th, I have nothing planned aside from packing for the trip.

She says the trip to Florida is more than enough and we don't need to do anything on the 14th, but it feels like a trick.

As a preventative measure I would do some small token, say flowers (not roses).

For everything that someone likes, there are 10 people there to shiat on it. Lol. That's the internet. Smh. I see a lot of people playing the "I'm a grown-up so I don't have fun that way" role. And they're saying it on a message board that people use to post juvenile, idiotic, and childish stuff.  Why don't you go comment on a Wall Street Journal article Mr. Nofun McStuffyPants?

/I don't celebrate St. Patty's Day because it's the day after my birthday.

rickythepenguin: I love the day after Valentine's Day.  You always know who didn't get that ring they had their heart set on. Count how many puffy eyed young ladies you see that morning, whom you know are in relationships.

I love the day after Valentines Day and the day after St. Patrick's Day, because all the overstock of unsold chocolate and Guinness go on sale.

Oh, come on...St. Patrick's Day ("Amateur Hour") is aweseome. Two years in a row I went to LoDo here in Denver and hung outside just to watch 20-something-year-old drunks get bounced and wrestled to the curb while screaming every ounce of profanity they know.  It did not disappoint either year.

Valentine's Day is a cynical cash grab by greeting card companies (no, I don't have a girlfriend, you're an asshole for asking).

Anyone who doesn't love St. Patrick's Day's never done it in Savannah.
