Wiki - "Congressional pension is a pension made available to members of the United States Congress. Members who participated in the congressional pension system are vested after five (5) years of service. A full pension is available to Members 62 years of age with 5 years of service; 50 years or older with 20 years of service; or 25 years of service at any age. A reduced pension is available depending upon which of several different age/service options is chosen. If Members leave Congress before reaching retirement age, they may leave their contributions behind and receive a deferred pension later.[1] "

He only se rved 2 years.

It was big story in 2011, that this bootstrappy, Tea Party guy owed tens of thousands in back child support.

Good luck with that Joe!  It takes about six months to get in front of a judge to even talk about reducing the payments and until then you're supposed to keep on paying.  I've known of people who got laid off and didn't have buddies who could fund a new SuperPAC get little sympathy from judges when it came to child support.  This knuckledragger ain't getting any sympathy from me.

Not to be a fan of Joe (see my previous post), but even if he did and was hired he would still have to go to court to ask for a reduction in his child support payments.  That is, unless you know a lot of illegals living like Congresscritters while bringing home the bacon so to speak.

Step 1: Welch on your child support payments.
Step 2: When people find out about step 1, they don't re-elect you to congress
Step 3: Claim that because your "employment has been terminated through no voluntary act of his own", you shouldn't have to pay child support.  Profit!

I don't think anyone is defending Jesse Jackson Jr. either. The difference is, Walsh stood on his high horse and hurled divisive rhetoric. For as much a piece of crap Jackson is, Jackson never acted like he was morally superior to the opposing party.

Because it's a well known fact that he hasn't paid child support for several years now. The last figure I saw was from 2011 and he owned over $100,000 in child support back then. I imagine the figure is much higher now.

There have also been several greenlit threads about him not paying child support.

Actually, it's still Waldo. I don't follow politics particularly closely, and even I knew about the Joe Walsh child support thing (though I didn't know he was now a former congresscritter, assumed he was still in office). Granted, the main reason I've heard of him is because it's super-easy to make Eagles jokes given his name.
