A Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives crossover with Doctor Who?

I'd watch it.

Nice, wonder if that broadcast will make it to the US in 3D. Where will folks get the 3D glasses? And when the hell are those assholes going to confirm whether it's a multi Doctor special and which ones are going to make it? Damn you!

Also, the new Atlantis show they were talking about sounds like it'll be interesting.

Cool? They could announce that Dr Who will be leaving a Cleveland steamer on the queen mothers chest and there are still people on Fark who would excitedly put on all their nerd clothes and pretend to be geeky in fake girlish glee.

My point being: making anything 3d is equivalent to shiatting on the chest of an elderly lady. Stop encouraging them before they shiat on your chest too.

I had assumed that if the US were to receive it, it would be blu-ray 3D requiring the viewer to have previously purchased a functioning 3D TV set.

My assumption...not stating it as fact.

Lighten up Francis, there's plenty of stuff out there that's been good in 3D. Avatar (the James Cameron movie, not the live action abomination Shammallamadingdong made of the Avatar cartoon) while being a bit light on story and plot, was amazing looking in 3D. Yeah it was a gimmick, but it worked. Tron: Legacy, same thing. Not the greatest story ever, but it was gorgeous in 3D.

I will grant you that 3D at home just isn't the same as a theater.

I was hoping TFA would be about a Dr. Who Chia Pet.  Ch-ch-ch-CHIA, D-D-D-Doctor Who!

/sadly, GIS for "chia dalek" yields no relevant results.  Sounds like a challenge for someone less artistically challenged than me.

Nope. Gimmick. Another sign that Moffat, while being a great writer, has shiat for brains as a show runner. This season is easily the worst of reboot. An extended farewell to the Ponds, lame as hell. Enough, bring on the next runner, already.

So pay extra for the 3D Movie, and then pay even more for a pair of glasses to prevent you from getting a headache when you could just buy tickets to the 2D Showing and save money?  I think not.

Note:  In my area, often the movie theaters have both 2D and 3D showings.  I'm not sure if this is the case elsewhere.

The Hobbit only shows in 48 FPS in Real3D theatres, so if you want the full experience you have to see it in 3D.  That's the only real use I can see for those glasses.  Alternatively, if you go to the theatre with friends but they want to see 3D and you are the outlier, you can just bring these glasses along.

Stevan Moffat, the show's lead writer and producer said the latest 3D escapade would bring a "whole new dimension of adventure for the Doctor to explore".

Meh on the 3D thing.

Liking the DD pics. ^__^

All I ask is that it doesn't suck.

Plus will there be more than one Doctor and if so who will they bring back?

Doctors?

Who?

Meh, we'll find out... in time.

Screw all of you. I want to see the inside of the TARDIS in 3D.

I mean, I probably never will, because I can't afford a 3D TV, but I want it to exist.

I mean, it's not as if those of us who have two good eyes don't walk around seeing the world in 3D every single day.
