I do. Far quicker and easier than pulling out my phone, turning it on, looking at the time(If it's displayed on the lockscreen, or unlocking it and looking at the time), turning it back off and putting it back in my pocket.

I don't want my watch to be a farking phone though. Although, I would like to find a phone as tough as my G-Shocks have been throughout the years.

Between this news and Motley Fool saying AAPL was oversold, my shares popped $8 today. Thank you, Apple-istas!

And the iFans will claim that Apple came up with the idea before that Dick Tracy creator.

Getting mine soon, can't wait. I'm just psyched for the waterproofing, primarily. I fried a couple Sony LiveView watches by forgetting to take them off before showering.

That's stupid. No one is going to have phone coversations with their wrist. It better be bluetooth capable, and then what's the point of wearing it on your wrist where you can accidently smack it into things and get it wet.

I do. It's awesome being asked for the time twenty times a day by cow-orkers who don't wear watches and aren't supposed to be fiddling with their phones when customers are around.

I'm looking forward to the day our phones and music players are implanted right in our heads. It might seem revolting at first but it's coming. Might as well get used to it.

Step 1: Redesign iPod Nano so it no longer works as a watch.
Step 2: Make a new iWatch.
Step 3: Profit!

And the Iwatch will have different rubber covers to help protect and spiffify your Iwatch.... That sounds familiar....

Yeah, because NObody tries to "make a fashion statement" by whipping out tyheir iPhone27 to show that they bought the new one, even though it is exactly like the iPhone26, except more buttons, less icons, etc...

My watch is handy, portable, always with me, and about a billion times easier to check without letting someone know that I'm actually checking it. It also doesn't have to be plugged in at night, could survive a 5-story drop, is waterproof to 200 M, and never crashes.

Screw that, cell phone watches have been around for years.

They're pretty big in Japan and to many in Europe (where laws for cell phones and carriers are much lax than here in the US). But don't tell that to anyone who thinks this idea is revolutionary and new.

In all honesty though, I don't know why people need a cell phone watch.... The battery life must be horrid due the size limitations, unless you're looking to wear something Leela's wrist-computer thingy or a Pip-Boy.

Combine this with Bluetooth and it might be the first Apple product I'd buy. Just as my first smartphone was a big step up on the portability scale from my laptop, this could be the next logical step.

Or the Sony Liveview (which I actually own) or the Sony Smart Watch or to a lesser degree one of the old Fossil Bluetooth watches. And I'm sure there are other ones I'm forgetting.

I don't know about the Sony Smart Watch, but the Sony Liveview was an AWESOME concept..... with utterly atrocious implementation. It was cool when it worked, which was for all of 15 minutes - TOPS - at a time. Then it would invariably freeze up. I gave up on it in disgust after a while, then a year later or so I heard about an update for it from Sony.

With hope in my heart I performed the update... and things hadn't gotten much better. Now it went for 30 minutes without freezing up or losing the bluetooth connection and needing to be reset and re-synched with the phone. An improvement, but after a day of wearing it I still wanted to throw it against the wall. I would have thought I might have gotten a lemon, but there were tons of people online having the same experience.

The most frustrating part was the wasted potential... In the brief intervals it worked you could: see the caller ID of the people calling you, read text messages, read emails, check the calendar, control the music player on my phone remotely, start and stop My Tracks GPS recording - among other features. If the thing worked reliably all day it would have been one of my all-time favorite gadgets, and I'd be wearing it right now. Instead, the poor execution just made me furious at Sony.

If the rumors are true, then I *may* possibly be very interested, depending on the details. If Apple does make it, it will likely be expensive and only work with iOS....... but it will also almost certainly NOT have the same fury-inducing stability issues that the Sony P.O.S. Liveview does. If the Apple one works with an Android phone it will be on my short list of gadgets to buy this year...... but the chances of that will be pretty damn slim, from what I know about Apple.

The article said they've shown interest in wearable computing... they're looking at improved display functionality/battery life. I think that the tech is  pretty much there for a watch. I think they're looking at glasses like Google's Project Glass. I think they could release a watch tomorrow with current tech if they wanted to (and they might) but the true innovation will be glasses. I personally can't wait to get a badass dragonball Z monocle or pair of eye glasses and I'm the type of person who JUST got a smart phone last Christmas.

I think Apple has been trying to throw red herrings talking about TV and watches - I gotta say though, Google is really getting the jump on them by letting app makers beta test their glasses. It might be hard to play catch-up to Google on this.
