I'm beginning to think that Chris Dorner has a valid point here...idiots. Women and white guys?? Are they farking nuts? Apparently so.

I hope those victims get a nice cash payout out of this, at a minimum.

It is a plan, if not effective.  They have a plan.

Eventually it should be foolproof, theoretically.

I love that photo, how he's grabbing his neck like "ow my neck, I'm disabled forever!" and she's grabbing her neck "his neck is putting a kink in my neck and we are going to sue!".

Not that they shouldn't sue, or don't deserve a hefty payday. It just looks like an ambulance chaser posed them for the photo.

Stupid bastard cops. Seriously, ram him and shoot at him after talking to him... I guess you could say racial profiling is dead and these cops are truly colorblind.

I really wonder how the LAPD can afford all these mistakes. Tax players can't be happy. I mean dang, politicians resign over an affairs. The police chief, resign?

Nope.

"When the vehicles collided, Perdue's air bag went off, blocking the view of the driver, and one officer fired three rounds."

This is a bald faced lie.  Airbags can't deploy and remain inflated. That is only something you see in movies for dramatic or comedic effect.  Airbags inflate almost instantly and deflate almost as fast. They have holes the size of half-dollars in the back of the bag.

I think we've reached the point where Dorner will become something of a folk hero in the eyes of a public that's constantly being terrorized by the LAPD.

F-14Tomcat: "When the vehicles collided, Perdue's air bag went off, blocking the view of the driver, and one officer fired three rounds."

When there are never, and I mean never, any consequences for your actions there are no longer any inhibitions to antisocial  behavior, including murder. That's why people become cops. They've been scared of consequences their whole lives and have found a safe place to be.

I hope that this attitude on their part changes. Police are important to the functioning of a civilized society but a group of armed, 100% self interested thugs, is the beginning of anarchy. No wonder no one wants to give up their guns.

Hasn't the LAPD shot anything else recently?

2013-02-10 01:43:15 PM
Dorner is likely long gone. Past Mexico by now. Perhaps Cuba or some other unfriendly spot. The roadblocks in LA are harassment pure and simple. "We're doing this because we can".

The psychologist's statement that "The police are not used to being hunted." is relieving. So, they are used to being the hunters? Not even a pretense of "To protect and serve?

Me too. But, once the public opinion turns, the LAPD will probably wind up holding the city hostage, and maybe Dorner will turn himself in once enough innocent people are shot by the LAPD.

It worked in Robin Hood.

Cheat sheet given to all LAPD officers:

How to tell if Christopher Dorner is in a vehicle:
Is it a car? Yes? He's not in it.
Is it a truck? Yes? SHOOT THE F*CKING THING FULL OF HOLES!!!!!!
But is it the right make of truck? IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!! SHOOT THE F*CKING THING FULL OF HOLES!!!!!!
But is it the right color truck? DO YOU UNDERSTAND ENGLISH??? IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!! SHOOT THE F*CKING THING FULL OF HOLES!!!!!!
But is it a white guy or women in it instead of a black guy? DO YOU WANT TO DIE??? SHOOT THE F*CKING THING FULL OF HOLES!!!!!!

Great job, LAPD! Clearly, the best way to deal with this situation is to make the general populace think that maybe Dorner has a farking point about the LAPD.

I don't condone him, excuse him, or think he's got a moral place here.  But he's certainly shined one FARK of a light on his central point, hasn't he?

Wait, he was wrongly assaulted by cops, but the article says he's an LAX baggage handler. I can't root for anyone here.

Especially since the LAPD was dumb enough to re-open the case and then give a statement of "We aren't doing this for Dorner but for the community"

Right.. All the public see's in that is "Dorner was right"..

2013-02-10 03:08:02 PM
Despite subby's headline, this wasn't LAPD. It was the Torrance Police Department.

And it's old news.

I came here hoping there was a lead on a vehicle Dorner is using. I haven't heard anything about vehicles missing from the Big Bear area, which leads me to suspect he's still up there.

My guess is he's either dead from hypothermia or a self inflicted bullet to the head, but they won't find the body till spring. And that may very well have been his intention.

2013-02-10 03:08:10 PM
Dorner's manifesto, as disturbing as it was, does make some sense. What in the hell is going on with the LAPD? "Hey, it's two chicks in a pick-up truck - Dorner's dressed like two chicks! Shoot 'em!" "Hey, it's a skinny white guy in a pick-up truck - Dorner's dressed like a skinny surfer! Shoot 'em!"

Perhaps someone should be less worried about Dorner and more worried about what's going on in the LAPD. It's almost as if the LAPD wants to ensure Dorner never makes it to trial.

2013-02-10 03:09:31 PM
How long until LAPD deploys armed hunter-killer drones to protect and serve while looking for Dorner?

/what worse things are Dorner's alleged crimes distracting the public eye from?

This has the fingerprints of Frank Drebin all over this plan.

Fark Libs should be very happy. The lapd no longer racially profiles. As a bonus, the unionized officers will get paid leave. Liberalism has triumphed.

I know its not an excuse. I wonder the age and length of service of these crusaders allegedly shooting crashing into things, people and shooting them full of holes.  I wonder too how much of what said is sensationalized by lawyers and media in order to collect money and sell papers.

I would gladly trade places with Mr. Perdue.  For the small cost of a concussion and a soiled pair of boxers, he's going to get an all expense paid vacation from work, a new truck, a six or perhaps seven figure tax free retirement fund, and likely a get-out-of-jail-free card good in the city of Torrance for the rest of his life.

2013-02-10 03:12:32 PM
If this guy has any brains at all, he's not still in the LAPD's jurisdiction. On the other hand, he's an ex-cop.

2013-02-10 03:13:26 PM
So the cops have declared war on blue trucks?

It doesn't matter.  These were the Torrance police who shot up this guy's car.  Ever police department in California is likely twitchy at this point.

Is there a "run dorner run" folk song yet? If not someone is missing an opportunity.

Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that outright executing someone that is a different color and gender, not to mention innocent, rather than the man you were gunning for, is probably pretty good grounds for murder charges being filed.

/Retirement, maybe?
//OK, a paid vacation it is.

Well, if anything, this is starting to remind me of these movies:

or, just maybe, he had another vehicle waiting there for him to use.

LA cops are out of control here. It's personal to them and LA can not discipline them. This is where the Federal Government must step in. Everybody knows that the LAPD will shoot to kill him and deny him his constitutional right to a trial.

The FBI can arrest every single LAPD cop that has anything further to do with this case. Continue to be involved LAPD cop? You are a domestic terrorist. You go to a federal holding prison in Cuba.

They're reducing the search in Big Bear, adding additional men to the security details on the named targets, and soon to be offering a reward for information leading to his capture/kill.  In other words... they have no farking clue where he is.

I don't condone any of the violence brought up in this whole issue, but after reading his manifesto, you have to hope that this brings about a huge amount of culture change in the LAPD and police departments in general.  If not to eliminate senior officers' entitlements and lack of oversight, at least in how they deal with the public.  The utter callousness he mentions about "body pictures" and deaths from crime meaning nothing but overtime to officers should incite rage in the public.

If his manifesto is to be believed, every citizen should be pushing for change.  Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if after this someone could win the mayor's job solely on an LAPD reform platform.

Of course in the real world, any organization (not just police) dealing with a formerly internal problem that has spilled out to the real world would probably just close ranks and bring organizational xenophobia to batshiat crazy levels, much like the LAPD has done.

2013-02-10 03:17:45 PM
Obama needs to send in the National Guard, and disarm the LAPD. Police Chief needs to be put on trial, and Dorner needs arrested and tried as well.

I bet it deflated faster with the 3 bullet holes in the back.
