tinderfitles: MagSeven: lewismarktwo: MagSeven: lewismarktwo: So... it was pretty obvious that the Lori ghost had a zombie face.  I'm pretty sure that means she will be back in zombie form even if only in Rick's head.

No. That was still her regular face.

Well, it's pretty hard to see, but there's definitely something different about her face.  Maybe just a bullet hole? They do foley in some zombie squishing noises right before Rick says 'I can't help ya! Get out!'

She did look a lot paler to me and intentionally shrouded in darkness, but I don't recall thinking she was zombie-like (well no more than usual). You could be right. I'll have to catch a replay or wait for internet pics.

Its a brighter image of her face that showed on reddit earlier.

Heh.  Every time I read stuff like this, I think back to a FARK thread during the first season where someone was arguing that it was Merle that stole the van when they were in Atlanta (with the gangsta caregivers), then filled the van with zombies, and unloaded them on the camp outside of town.  I loved that thread.

But I'm sure theories about how Lori is back, or that zombie Lori will play a prominent role this season, will fare much better.

They didn't really show Carl shoot her in the head, did they?

They showed the walker with the distended belly that obviously ate her corpse.

One Bad Apple: What are you a farking creationist ? Do you think the concept of morality and fairness just spewed forth from some magically carved stone tablets ? That shiat is a LUXURY.

I wouldn't go that far.  Morality, regardless of its source, is a set of rules that allow society to function.  Dispensing with morality altogether would be just as destructive as trying to follow Dale's idealism.  What Dale never understood was that the rules had changed.  You can still choose to show mercy to someone, but the risk-reward of that choice is much different in the Walking Dead universe than in ours.

She is a zombie and once the gov gets the prison (wrecking most of it in the process) and everyone skedadles for parts unknown, zombie Lori will shamble out of some corridor and gets the gov.  With that the character Lori will have done something that was actually redeming.

And how did that work out for everyone ? Morality don't stop a herd from overrunning your camp.

Dale:  "We can't kill this man, who could lead certain death to our door!"

Rick:  "Fine, he bunks with you, and you share your food rations."

I'm pretty sure Battlestar Galactica did that in the miniseries. Six was walking around Caprica, saw a baby and made small talk with the family, then snapped its neck as they were distracted with something.

Public Call Box: Yup, I agree. In the long run Dale's odds aren't good. But in the long run its the Dales that keep you sane.

The problem was that Dale didn't offer any solutions.  He demanded the group talk before killing Randall but then threw a tantrum when things didn't go his way.  He never offered a viable solution for how to deal with him.  Everyone else asked questions about juries and judges and imprisonment, but Dale never answered any of those questions.  Randall had already admitted to being part of a group that had raped young girls and that alone justified dealing with him.  At the risk of sounding sexist, fertile women are the most valuable people in the world in the Walking Dead universe.  If Dale's insistence on following a rule of law that no longer exists results in the loss of the few women the group has left, all of his rantings would amount to nothing.  The discussion they had was one that they should have had a month before the situation arose.

So let's be clear here, your thesis here seem to be that survival trumps all concerns after the Walker apocalypse.

Congrats, you're a Walker.

As it stands right now, the group does not have a large enough population to be sustainable for more than a generation or two.  Dale was an old man clinging to a society that was dead and gone.  While his goals may have been noble, the world of the Walking Dead is one where every moment is a struggle for survival.  Maybe when the situation is stabilized they can start thinking about those sorts of issues, but at the moment they have to think about what's going to get them to the next day.

Yup, I agree. In the long run Dale's odds aren't good. But in the long run its the Dales that keep you sane.

Quite probably.

Still doesn't make you right.

Being right is a privilege of the living. Morality is an artificial construct born from easy living. If survival means abandoning that then so be it. When things get cozy again it will likely redevelop.
