2013-02-10 11:15:34 PM
Should have sung Novacane or Swim Good

2013-02-10 11:15:42 PM
A lot of people might slag on him for that, but the song is actually about a same sex relationship he had in high school.  Which might be a first for the Grammys.

2013-02-10 11:16:15 PM
Fun is gonna win but the Black Keys should.

2013-02-10 11:16:55 PM

As God as my witness, I never would have guessed that a band with a banjo-player would be British.

2013-02-10 11:21:40 PM
Brendan Fraser and Sons taking the award that should have went to Between the Buried and Me for Album of the year...

Still don't get how Frank Ocean got a record deal or is even at these awards. I didn't get it when I heard him on SNL and I definitely didn't get that song? tonight.

This is a shiatty finale.

No, Golden Boy stars Chi McBride.

I thought that's what Bad Religion was about, that's the song where he sings about how, "I could never make him love me." Is Forrest Gump also about unrequited love? I assumed he picked Forrest Gump to sing because it mentions fingers lots and he wanted to needle Chris Brown over the whole cut finger thing from their fight.

Is that a Fringe tribute?

I happened to like the ending of the show (except that it was interrupted by 'sponsors'), but then again, I'm a 40 year old white chick.

/I did see Public Enemy play over 20 years ago if that accounts for anything
//no, it doesn't

accounts = counts

Damn it.

Beastie Boys

did not have time to animate it

Never mind, I listened to Forrest Gump again, and yeah, that is about his first love too. I guess I hadn't listened to the lyrics closely enough all the other times I listened to the album. That is a first for the Grammys then, isn't it?

I like Mumford and Sons but Frank Ocean deserves to win everything this year. I don't even really like his genre (R&B makes me feel cranky for some reason), but Channel Orange was a great album.

Ditto. I just bought it today and it's amazing.

Had to shut it off right now...I can't stand Justin Timberlake. Never did understand what people see in him.

Judging by his performance and song at the Grammys, he doesn't deserve a record deal. It wasn't just bad, it was embarrassing. I caught him on Saturday Night Live awhile back too and had the thought, "You know when you see really old reruns of SNL and the musical guest makes you go, 'Well we know why we never heard from them again', this is just like that."

His public performances are hit and miss, but his album is brilliant.  It probably didn't help matters that he was doing a song where he was trying to play piano and his finger is still busted up from getting into the fight with Chris Brown.

Really though, listen to the album, there's a reason why it's on top of everybody's best-of lists for 2012.
