Polar bears look cute and playful. But they too will rend you limb from limb and devour you.

I call it "Cute Monster" syndrome. Darwin ain't even gotta use Kentucky windage to bag those who can't see it.

I have never been a cat person. My mother wasn't, and it rubbed off on us kids. My ex-husband wanted a cat to go with the two dogs, but I resisted for years. Mainly because there were two ferrets and then two rabbits (long story) and I didn't want another mouth to feed.

Then a close friend who was coming to visit lost his cat unexpectedly. About a year later, someone posted online that they were giving away two cats who they rescued from underneath their neighbor's porch. The male had this horrible wound in his neck, and nearly died from infection. Since my friend was coming to visit in two months, I went and adopted the kitty to raise for him until he could take him back to Florida. He was dubbed "Luigi Buddha".

Luigi was the most awesome cat I ever met, who eventually encouraged me to adopt siblings Aurora & Smoke. When I left my ex I ended up with Smoke, the big, dumb, loverboy. This past summer I ended up taking on Peridot from a litter found on my bf's parent's farm. My blind basset is still rather blase about the entire thing.

While I still wouldn't identify myself as a cat person, per se, they infected my life. Those tigers are adorable- until they eat you. Just like Peridot's expressions at times. "I will eat the squishy bits".

strangeluck: DO NOT WANT Poster Girl: They want to introduce the male ack into the wild with no fear of human beings? That'll end poorly.

That's what I was thinking to, plus no real hunting experience or fighting to survive. I don't see that ending well.

Same thoughts here.  Poachers up in Siberia like their tigers so they can sell organs to China.  If surviving the wild doesn't kill them, a poacher will.  They probably associate humans with food so if the first person they see is a poacher...not good.
Then again, if the first person they see isn't a poacher and they associate people with free food handout, and the person they meet doesn't give them food...not good either.
