If this happened in Detroit, the guy would be compared to RoboCop.

BUT it would never happen in Detroit, because there's nobody with any ethics or decency in the entire city government. If there's a good cop (or politician) in Detroit, I'd be completely surprised to meet him or her.

This guy is no different than the Sandy Hook shooter or the Colorado
Theatre shooter, he may have killed innocent people. I think LAPD made the right choice
in firing him after all he may be a murderer.

OK, fine. Then are the police possibly guilty of attempted murder for opening fire on targets when they didn't know who was being shot at?

No but  I would be alright with them getting fired. The women that were shot at will get a big pay day
and will never deliver papers again.

Kit Fister: Bontesla: JustFarkinAround: Mentat: JustFarkinAround: I can't believe the NRA isn't all over this story: regardless of which side you believe, what a perfect story against gun control!

If you believe Dorner,  you should have a legal right to defend yourself against a corrupt police force and the government that is too corrupt to fix it.
If you believe the LAPD, you should have the legal right to defend yourself against a highly trained, armed and crazed ex-soldier/policeman.

If you still believe in gun control, you still have your right to be a pussy, stick your head in the sand , and hope that your precious govt/police give two shiats about your anonymous ass or your family - I hope that works out for you.

And if you believe that two elderly Hispanic women in a blue Toyota Tacoma are similar enough to a middle aged black man in a grey Nissan Titan to justify unloading your weapons at them, you should be really happy!

Don't misunderstand my statement - I dont back the LAPD here, and I think their gung-ho 'shoot anything that moves' is abhorrent.  Obviously, there's corruption in the LAPD, but this guy has no reason to kill his "enemy's" children - that's terrorism to kill innocents.  This guy should've contacted the LA Times or Geraldo Rivera and made the talk show circuit as a whistleblower.

That's not technically how an act is determined to be an act of terrorism.

This. Also, totally would sponsor Bontesla for TF.

Aww. Thank you for that consideration.

From M-W:
Terrorism: the systematic use of terror as a means of coercion
Terror: violent or destructive acts (as bombing) committed by groups in order to intimidate a population or government into granting their demands <insurrection and revolutionary terror>

Dorner wants people to investigate the LAPD and he commits violence against a group of people (including innocent people) - now, how is this NOT terrorism???

Terrorism isn't about violence. It's quite possible to successfully commit terrorism without any violence. Terrorism is about creating terror and using terror as leverage in order to achieve or gain something that would otherwise be denied to you.

Acts of terrorism are aimed at large swaths of people or large targets because the goal is to force the government (or people in charge) to give in to their demands. They're also carried out by a group of people that is seen as having less power.

While Dorner may be striking terror into his opponents - his actions aren't creating nationwide terror.

You know, usually when they release photos of the killers/suspects they have those dead eyes or look totally insane...this guy looked so smiley and nice. It's sad. What a clusterfark.

Well at the time of the pictures he was the picture perfect example of a strong and honest human being who was at peace with his life.
Something happened, which he tried to explain in a 30 page memo.
Now he probably doesn't smile any more.

I think I'm gonna have you google "fallacy flip" in regards to Racism 101 on that last bit.

Geesh.

thamike: Kit Fister: Not sure how I see actively hunting down and killing the Gang Bangers and taking back the cities once and for all as a "Bad" thing, per se.

The fact that it's complete fantasy on multiple levels is a start.

Do they not think the gang members would be armed? Probably better than they are? And that they know their own territory a lot better? I would expect a massacre of civilians, and I can't say they wouldn't deserve it, based solely on stupidity.

I did as you asked and nothing pertinent came up.  It would help me if you could explain exactly what it is you are getting at.

If we need to take away the guns from anyone right now it seems like we should take them away from the cops.

Agreed.  Only good guys should have guns.

An otherwise "good guy" over the edge.  Really dangerous now.  I dont doubt he was mistreated by the LAPD.
