What's truly amazing is the fact that this bit of right-wing propaganda with China-quality production values did NOT happen in the US.

Because real people can't project that wholesome stock-photo aura.

Does it ever bother conservatives the the only way they can win any issue is through deception and fraud?

The BC Liberals(we don't need to consult with a lawyer to impose these unconstitutional laws)
hate the NDP(money laundering party, but otherwise good'nuf).

Eh, as long as no one is stupid enough to vote in the Conservative party(a bunch of rightwing whackjobs who are stealing the biggest and best assholes from the Liberal party.

/Green party mannnnnnnnnn. Like we have stuff we'd like to do, but them asshole suits keep calling us hippies for not fully conspiring with the corporations aspirations of world domination.

For it to bother them would require a conscience, which, fortunately for them, they lack.

Concerned Citizen Trolls for B.C.

FTFJim Shepard.

American style attack ads by astro-turfy "citizens" groups are still a relatively novel idear in Canadian politics, one I'm hoping goes away, although I'm not holding my breath waiting for that one.

Stock photo?  Hardly even that.

Some GOP-based group recently did the same thing with "concerned business owners"; all photos they used were stock. None of what they presented was real. Not surprising in the least.

Ah-HA! Scandal!

Wait, what? Who cares?

Even in sleepy, milquetoast Canada, this really should be a non-issue.

They spent $1 million on this attack campaign, but couldn't spring for a non-stock photo?  That's just pathetic and lazy.

The fact that they're crying about corporate funding and calling it 'shadowy' while whining about the use of a stock photo clued me in immediately... I didn't even need to know it was the NDP they were working against.

Yes, there are people with a lot of money who have the audacity to be something other than a hardline liberal so either quit taking boat loads of money from the rich people who are hardline liberals or quit whining when somebody else besides you does it.

FTFA: Then I went to one of the world's most popular image banks, iStock, and punched in the words "happy people". Lo and behold, the same photo popped up.

Or you could just drag and drop it into Google Images. But, you know, searching random stock photography sites is probably more productive.

Nah, that's just what random does. Everytime a conservative gets caught doing something they probably shouldn't, he jumps up on the cross to explain that liberals forced them to and conservatives are just innocent victims.

Perhaps they have something to hide, but my guess is that they're just lazy and cheap, which is even worse.

i agree with that comment.

My first thought as well...  Although having looked it up they aren't as far off as I'd thought other than Vancouver. (About 10% or 11% provincially, 17% in Vancouver from the wiki, I wonder how many of the 15% of "Canadians" are of Asian origin... Also Blacks are way over represented, but a fine substitute for everything else non pasty.  But I digress)  I guess they have no real interest in the Asian vote anyway... idiots are pushing the mythical idealized pre multi-cultural, conservative suburban dream anyway... And really, who among you give a shiat about Vancouver... It's only 2.3M votes.

They can't, its a parliamentary system that is so serially corrupt that it reflects the politics of a dysfunctional third world country. People up here can't vote for basic things, have trouble making their voices heard and lack a credible media outlet.

I hate this province's politics.

Inept and corrupt NDPers who cozy up to the worst and most corrupt elements of organized labour.  Glen Clarke's deck, bingogate, fast ferries fiasco...all of them hamfistedly lining their pockets and their friends' pockets while pretending to be high and mighty "left wingers" whose shiat don't stink and who care sooooo much about the poor and downtrodden.

Inept and corrupt (but slightly less so than the NDP) Liberals who have mishandled everything from the HST to smart meters to the loss of billions of dollars in film industry work to Ontario and Manitoba.  I don't think they deserve reelection as a reward for a job well done. But who else can I vote for?  I'm kind left with no choice because the third option is...

Conservative Party of BC:  Their "ein volk, ein reich, ein premiere" slogan is a bit of a giveaway on their policy positions.
