1:5 != 1/5, innumeratemitter.

1:5 = 16.7%
1/5 = 20%

3:5 = 37.5%
3/5 = 60%

Did a second grader submit this?

I've come to the realization that Facebook is like rooming with all your friends.
At first it's all, "This is great! We can stay in touch and talk."
Then later, it's all, "You listen to that crap? You watch what? You believe in what?"

I quit Facebook a few months ago, mostly because my news feed devolved into cat pictures and retarded memes. If I wanted that crap, I would go to reddit.

I've never had a problem on Facebook. Then again, the relatives and friends on there know how to not act like farking idiots. We've actually managed to just share interesting and useful things with one another.

Mawson of the Antarctic: I only use Facebook for its messaging properties, more reliable than email in most cases with my friends. I am, however, planning on paring down my personal page in favore of a more professional, business/group page. It's gotten pointless when only 25% of your friends see your stuff anyway, due to algorithms.

That's ok, your future employers will still see your current page in the future thanks to  And then they won't hire you.  So you might as well leave it as is.

I live in the sow-uth.  About 98% of my nearly 800 friends on Fb are in the "Obama killed Lincoln and is going to take our guns " category.

What's the ratio elsewhere in the country, seriously?  Please say it's not like this everywhere.

I deactivated my Facebook account about two months ago.  How long do I have to wait before I go full-on smug hipster douchebag, a la "I don't even have a TV"?

I decided not to create an account in 2008 because I had read back then about how people were fired or did not get hired because of their account. Since then I keep getting more reinforcement that I made the right decision.

Slaxl: and another 10 percent said the content wasn't relevant.

When the only content is your friends that seems like a bullshiat answer. Either they have no friends, so there's no content, or they hate their friends.

The vast majority of my friends post vapid crap that I couldn't care less about. Every so often they get in touch with me directly, or notify me of something. If it wasn't for the fact that a lot of people use facebook events to arrange stuff, or that it's far easier to find someone on facebook than it is by googling, I wouldn't have it.

I don't really care what my friends had to eat or what news story caught their attention. It doesn't help that there's a few in particular who consistently post full-retard freeperville stuff about the Obama administration.
