Either you're having a stroke or your doing a good job of perpetuating the stereotype of Americans. The word Rheinland should be a big clue that we are talking about one of the ten most well known rivers in the world and the post is probably about German sports.

I read it as a Sauerkraut recipe headline, but, ymmv. ;)

Or it could just be total snark because I'm bored at work. Lighten up.

Looks like Bayern Munich is running away with it this year

Langston: Looks like Bayern Munich is running away with it this year

Looks that way...they're too far in front at this point. Best thing my guys (Dortmund) can do is to make sure they lock up second (and the CL spot for next year), and try to go deep into the KO stages in this year's CL.

FCB has only lost once this year and given up 7 goals in 20 matches. Not much you can do about that. They look like Dortmund did last year (not that BVB is playing badly this year).

This is going to be a very important match for Bayern, win this and they're gonna be set to win at least the first 8 again this half of the season. After this match they'll be playing against the bottom half of the table until Leverkusen who was the first team to beat them this season. So essentially, this will be a chance that one of the other teams does get to take a bite out of their lead, but even still, it's going to take a lot more than just a bite.

Please tell me I'm seeing these scores right? Dortmund loses and Leverkusen draws?

Man, it would be so sweet if Bayern wins today then!

I gotta be honest, I think Bayern had the whole competition on lock-down before Christmas. They've been borderline unstoppable, and Dortmund has struggled to keep it up in three competitions.

Excited to see Super Mario starting today. I'm hoping he can bang in a goal or two to shut up the doubters. Seriously, what more does Gomez have to do? He's been one of Europe's most consistent strikers for the last five years or so. I still think it's ridiculous that Bayern fans want him out.

Robben is starting, which is good for Robben I guess. Of course I hope he can find his form again, but Mueller is so good this season that benching him if you don't have to is a mistake. But it'll be good to have a fully rested Mueller before the Arsenal game.

I have no idea why they had Alaba take that, but hellll yeah :P 1-0!

2013-02-09 12:51:20 PM
Also, that should have been like the 5th penalty. Schalke finally tried to get away with one too many.

Alaba is seriously going to be the best left-back in the world in a few years. He can move forward better than most but is still not a defensive liability like some full backs who go forward like he does, he's a great free-kick taker and cool under pressure. (Hence the reason he's second choice to take PK's for Bayern at the moment.)

I still remember when he stepped up and took a PK against Real Madrid when some players wouldn't. The kid is a Champion.

True that, forgot about that Real Madrid PK.

Unfortunately I have to go, I'll keep checking up every five seconds on my phone though.

Goooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllll! Bastian with the free-kick!

Half-time Bayern 2-0 Schalke. Goals from Alaba (PK) and Schweinsteiger (FK).

Fantastic attacking game from Bayern so far, but Gomez needs to be a bit more clinical and Kroos needs to be a 10. I also think Schweinstieger, despite the free-kick, isn't having the best of games either.

Goooooaaaalll Alaba! Mario Gomez of all people with the assist.

Manuel Neuer is captaining Bayern against Schalke. Glorious.

Bayern look damn good. Will be interesting to see who goes further in the CL - Dortmund or Bayern.

Nice! I was following along on my phone but couldn't see the game, missed a damn good one! Thanks for the updates Kaiser!

Honestly, I'm kinda expecting Dortmund to win the Champions League this year, but that's fine by me as long as Bayern hold on to the Bundesliga.

I would not have an argument with this...as long as BVB holds second in the Bundesliga to make a return trip to the CL.

No problem! :-)

I gotta be honest though, I'm not sure I can see BVB winning the Champions League. They're a fantastic team with ridiculous talent, but they get stretched pretty thin sometimes. Their BuLi performance during the Champions League this season was not very good, and I suspect they'll drop some more points before the season is done most likely when they re-enter Europe. Also, while dominating their group is impressive, Mancini is a terrible coach who can't do shait in Europe and Real Madrid have been woefully underperforming. Could BVB pull the same thing against a team like Barcelona over two legs? Maybe, but I'm not fully convinced yet.

English translation: People you have never heard of and don't care about, from a country you don't care about, are going to be playing a sport you don't care about, at a place you have never heard of and don't care about, on a day when you have better things to do and at a time when you are likely to be sleeping anyway.   The scores will all be either 1-0 or 0-1.  Not that you care.

WhAAAAAAAAAAA!
I go to Fark.com to avoidthe farking Bundesliga, which, acording to our media outlets here, is more important as 1 milion death in India (as long as there's no foreign tourist among them).
Why can't you just keep on ignoring Fußball/soccer?
An why is this in "Fark us" and not in "Sports"
