Actually you might be on to something there...  Why not just both be an a dress (for innies), or both in a suit (for outies) or whatever. Why go to the trouble of imposing gender roles where they don't actually apply?  If not for some measure toward conformity.

/someone hold me, I  just agreed with BPipaS

Well, both wearing a dress just because they're women is what's actually conforming ro gender roles. I'm guessing the woman in the suit is not the type of woman who's ever been comfortable in a dress. Some of us aren't. I'm not a lesbian, but I'd get married in jeans and a t-shirt if my family would let me get away with it.

You might want to be a little more careful of asserting that stuff as "basic biological truths". It's pseudoscience at best, and total junk at its worst.

Most good scientists recognize that biological sex is a pretty poor indicator of behavior and of strengths and weaknesses.

Also, the link is wrong. this is not a picture from a homosexual "wedding".
1) homosexual cannot be married, as marriage is between a man and a woman.

Here's an idea: go find some lesbians who are willing to talk about what it is to them to be a lesbian and ask them. Just don't be condescending.  You'll probably have a better understanding of their perspective of attraction then.  Then you don't have to make the same boring comments that everyone  makes when topics like this emerge. I'm not a part of the gay community, but I'm friends with quite a few that are..so when I see a phenomenon I don't understand, I ask about it and they explain it to me.

what and get some answer that is a lie and only designed to justify their abnormal desires.A woman who says she is a lesbian but only is attracted to butch type women has issues and really is a woman who wants a man but has been told and came to believe she is a lesbian.

I see. So your issue is that you don't believe that people can be naturally lesbian, or that all lesbians must be girly girls, attracted to other girly girls. This is in spite of the fact that many men are attracted to women who are not girly at all. Does that make them secretly gay? Or is it possible at all that people are attracted to other people for reasons aside from the way they look and that people generally dress however they feel the most comfortable (business suits aside)?

By most, you mean pretty much none that has in any way examined the behavior of human beings.

The notion that all human behavior is cultural and none of it biological is basically 20th century social scientists who where afraid that if it were otherwise then racism was justified and women would be all barefoot and pregnant.

There is profound differences in behavior between the genders.  They exist in every society on this planet.    Violence is one of the most obvious.  Men are far more violent then women.

There have been boys who by accident lost a penis as babies.  So vaginas were made surgically and they were raised as girls.   And yet they self-identified as boys even without being told that they were boys.

Of course, very few to none of the real gender differences has anything to do with the ability to learn a job that requires using one's intelligence.  (There have been studies that suggest one sex is better at certain mental tasks than the other, but the overlap is great to make it worthless for judging a person.)

beta_plus: Assuming that you are not gay (NTTAWWT), yeah, actually you do.

Happiness is a reward given to you by your genetics for doing things that would have furthered your survival and you genes survival for millions of years.  If you deny your hunter-gatherer roots, you are doomed to be unhappy.

Now, does that mean that a woman should be barefoot and pregnant cooking in the kitchen?  No.  But she and her husband had better do the basic things that keep each other happy on an instinctual level when possible.  If you're a guy, be the manly man that makes your wife happy.  Keep in mind that one of the main things that keeps her happy is you standing up to the challenges she will instinctually give you to test that you are manly.  This used to be called flirting.

Ladies, be feminine around the man you care about.  Make him feel welcomed and desired.  Obviously, test him a bit but have the good sense to do it at the right times.  Kind of like how he shouldn't demand sex from you at the wrong times.  Basically, be sweet and kind if he has proven to be worthy of it.  Don't be a biatch unless it is truly necessary.

FTFA(Fox): Prior to the 1970s, people viewed gender roles as as equally valuable. Many would argue women had the better end of the deal!

Yes. The roles were viewed as equally valuable -- unfortunately, the people we not.
And yes, many would argue that. Many people are idiots.

I also liked this gem:
FTFA(Fox): Those of us with children know better. We know little girls love their dolls and boys just want to kick that ball. This doesn't mean men can't take care of babies or women can't play sports. It just means each gender has its own energy that flows in a specific direction. For God's sake, let it flow.

It's actually a fair point, but the author is contradicting herself without realizing it. She is right: people should not care about gender trends. That's just data. People shouldn't actively try to fight against biology (when it's not harmful). But, she applies that insight selectively to people who actively go against gender trend simply because they are gender trends; she insults and slights the outliers of the trends. She essentially demands universal compliance. Most boys do x, so all boys should do x. Heaven forbid a boy grows up to like other boys; if he does, then he very much must not go with the flow. Fight the flow, boy; FIGHT IT!

/granted homosexuality wasn't specifically mentioned, but the point remains RE outliers of any gender trend.
