I often get "My other email address won't work! Help me!"  No name, no account number, the other email address isn't mentioned at all. I have no way to help other than to reply asking for more information. Same goes for those who leave voicemails. "Call me back!"  No name, no phone number. Just because I'm an ISP doesn't mean I'm goddamned magical.

Got my first dog three years ago...she's an awesome 20 lb spaniel. Prior to that, had cats always. One lived to about 24, a tortoiseshell. kept to herself mostly, but did hunt stuff occasionally. Saw a mockingbird harass her one day by repeated dive-bombing her. My cat did not move the first three times. On the fourth, she jumped up and stuffed that bird right into the ground. Luckily I was there to separate the warring parties. Bird lived. I saw this cat jump onto the back of a much larger dog that invaded her garage. I felt bad for the dog.

That cat's companion was a longhair tabby that couldn't catch shiat besides lizards. She'd remove their heads and swirl 'em around in the water bowl. Cats are good at entertaining themselves.

Had another cat, a Persian tortie, who absolutely knew not the killing instinct. Nice short legs so she couldn't jump up on furniture taller than a couch and knock everything down. She caught a young cicada once...it couldn't fly more than a foot or two at a time. Cat would catch it in her mouth, take a few steps, then let it go. Repeat for two hours. The bug lived. When I moved from that apartment, I found some old boots in a closet that opened into the attic. The door was a piece of cloth. Anyway, one boot contained a bunch of mouse poop and the other a bunch of cat food. That little farker had been sneaking around at night, stealing shiat, for months. My cat apparently did not know or care. She probably helped. Cool cat.

The one and only time my dog ran off - before we really cranked down on her training - she ran into the woods following a baby moose.  There are acres and acres of woods and she wouldn't come when we called her.  We knew she was aggressive to other dogs so we didn't want to chance her eventually wandering into someone else's yard.  We called and whistled and wandered for naught.  Then I got the idea to scream for help.  Guess who came running as fast as she could? She practically collapsed at my feet she was running so fast and was very confused that everything seemed fine.

I don't know that she could lead people to me, but she'll be there if I need her and from what I've seen she's almost as indestructible as she thinks she is.  A worthy ally for any zombie apocalypse team.

Dog saves bum. Call me when he saves a neurosurgeon.
