people with a garage full of junk that they're never going to do anything with but can't bear to get rid of because "I might need that some day."

Doesn't matter it's a festival of McMansions and 1800sq ft McMansion jrs.  The whole place is not more that 25 year old subdivisions, that all look exactly the same... Other than the size of the boulevard trees.

If you live somewhere that gets regular snow you should keep your car in your garage if you can.  Morning scraping in sub-zero weather looks quite lame.

I have a garage that was built in 1952 and I drive a pickup truck. Ain't no way in hell my truck is fitting through my garage door.

I rent my garage out to a Mexican family. The lease says I can only park one car in there at a time.

It isn't that bad. I have a 2 car garage. I also have 2 kids and the girlfriend has two kids. After tools, lawn care stuff, bikes, scooters, outside toys, sports equipment etc. we park in the driveway. But we don't get snow here all that often or all that bad.

I would love to park in the garage but my truck doesn't fit.  So I store my gas grill in there so I can pull it out easy and grill in the driveway.  When there is snow on the ground, it takes some getting used to at first.

Wiser words have never been said.  The only person I know with a garage clean enough to actually park a car in there is my dad, who lives in San Diego, so I'm not so sure why his house has a garage in the first

place.

ZAZ: If you own a curb cut you should be forbidden from parking on or near your street.

That actually wouldn't be too hard to enforce if you issued street parking permits.  You'd just have to authorize your parking authority to map which households had spaces.  You could go one step short of that and just have fairly high fees for residential parking permits, which would encourage people to use their driveways or garages if they had them.  One of the big problems with curb cuts is they take away public parking spaces to create private ones.  If you have one AND you park on the street you are really taking up two spaces.

we had this discussion, my wife and i, where i talked about my plans for the garage when we finally purchase.

she was astonished that i wasn't going to let her just take over the garage with storage, that i was, in fact, going to allow her very limited storage space in it.

-_-

City of Vaughn asks a very reasonable question.

If you have to leave your automobiles outside in severe weather because you have too much stuff in your garage, you have too f*ckin' much stuff.

The tweeter is an idiot.

I have such a garage and a four-car driveway.  There's a nice four-car driveway in front of it.  There are 3 bikes slumbering in the garage, the 3 cars stay outside... in the driveway... so, you know, not in the way of municipal snowplows.

Has the city of Vaughan called in the army yet ?

FTFY.

Make roads narrower, save major $$$. No reason taxpayers should subsidize parking.

I remember listening to somebody say that America is the only country in the world were people will store useless junk in their garage and leave a $30,000 piece of equipment outside. Guess he was wrong, Canadians do it also.

I have a curb cut but park one of the cars on the street cause the damn thing leaks oil all over the place and I don't want that shiat on my driveway.

They wouldn't call in the army as the majority of plow trucks are just sitting in people's driveways there waiting for a storm like this.

People that park their cars...blocking the sidewalk...are farking self-centered aholes. My neighborhood is full of aswipes that have a 3 bedroom home, a garage, and 5 cars and park none of those cars in their garage. Instead they park their cars on the sidewalk so when I walk my dog we have to detour into the street. Some cars gonna be getting keyed!!!!
