Ummm, you have Fridays off and you are complaining because other people got one Friday off?  Enjoy your semester-long 3-day weekends and stop complaining.

Last week I worked 48 hours, and I got deducted vacation time, because I left work early one day.

I hope they get struck hard with the storm, so I can stick it to them and not be there to bring up the servers until Monday 8 AM, leaving them dead in the water.

True, although it was so cold this morning that the exhaust from the car in front of me froze on my windshield and damn near made me crash.

/Yes, I know Portland has mild weather and most of the country would scoff at my most minor of issues.

Yeah, this is going to suck.  I still have to be at work tomorrow, and I will, but I don't have to like it.

Clearly this means global warming and climate change are a marxist socialist hoax created by the Jews to redistribute wealth to Botswana.

I was a kid for the blizzard of '78, it was a blast.  No school for a week, snow drifts towering over my head, awesome sledding for weeks afterwords.

Now, I mostly used a lot of bad language when I saw how this storm was shaping up.

Fark....  Farking A, Man.  Here we go again.

Well, I got plenty of food and water and beer, so I'm good.

2013-02-08 04:09:17 PM
The weird thing is, west of Lake Michigan, the storm dumped about 7" or so of snow on the north Chicago suburbs, and more in Wisconsin, but south of I-80 almost all of the precipitation fell as rain. Nothing like Snowpocalypse 2011.

I'm OK with that, insofar as I don't have to break out the shovel. As much fun as blizzards are while they're happening (if you're at home and the power stays on), the digging out sucks.

2013-02-08 04:10:20 PM
Just two inches on the ground here so far just north of Boston. The wind is starting to whip up and you can feel that it's about ready to asplode. I'll wait until it gets fun out before heading off to the bar.
