Bored Horde: Lollipop165: St_Francis_P: Alisha Esch's parents called police after coming home Friday night to find their 3-year-old and 9-month-old grandchildren by themselves without any supervision. They said Esch, 20, eventually returned home about 5 a.m. and passed out on her bed, apparently intoxicated.

When your own parents are having you arrested, generally speaking you're a confirmed loser.

She's 20, has a 3 year old and a 9 month old, and seemingly no baby daddy.

Good decisions don't seem to be her strong point.

Yeah it's totally her fault that her designed-to-fail sex education and restricted access to birth control and abortions rendered her a mother of two at age 20 with zero economic prospects.  It's her fault, not the men who fathered her two children (who have since absconded themselves), nor her parents for raising her thusly, nor the state's for institutionalizing a system that promotes teenage pregnancy.

It's her fault.

She, like everyone else, needs to be responsible for her own actions. A lot of people grew up in shiatty homes with shiatty parents and shiatty public education and yet they still don't neglect their children.

I see comments about her culture, her upbringing, her religeon, and her baby daddy probably being some hunk who is just out of jail....

Exactly the same things you would hear in one of the African American threads, except maybe the parents calling the police on their own child.

This is why few take you seriously Dro
I think for Florida, she's doing pretty darn well. I say we give her a little trophy.

I'm so insignificant that you've polled Farkers to see how many of them take me seriously? Seems contradictory. Please tell me how the Weeners blames the woman's culture (see: race) for the choices that she's made? And the second comment goes right to my point. You rarely see these comments made in threads about Shamiqua. Its all about how typical that the father isn't around or about how those black people don't have the family values to take care of their children. In this thread, the negative comments are directed squarely at the person who made the stupid decisions, not the people who happen to look like her.

Calling out Florida for this chicks mistakes is calling out her culture. You may think culture only means race, but that is pretty myopic.
You are right, there are some racists on the internet, you have made a startling discovery, this never occurred to anyone before! Those racist white posters don't make racist comments about white people, shocking!

You have successfully turned another thread that wasn't about racism into one that was! Way to go, dog!

I'd have to go with 100% her fault. Fathers have zero say on the topic. And if you're too scared to tell your family about it the school will direct you to the nearest place to get that little problem taken care of.

If you're watching too much Teen Mom on Mtv and you think it's a good idea to get teenage pregnant it's 100% your fault.

Florida law requires parental consent on both birth control and abortions if the teenager is under 18.  Florida also instructs teens in Abstinence-only education which has been documented to increase pregnancy rates over  not givingteens sexual education.

These are facts.  You might have opinions, but the facts are plain.

I'm with you on how farked up florida laws are and how ass backwards sex education is, but this isn't about a struggling young woman trying to survive in a world tilted against her, this is some dumb biatch who left her toddler and infant home alone to go boozing it up and then pass out at home drunk.

There are plenty of responsible young women with kids who could be much better served by your otherwise legitimate ranting. This girls irresponsibility went above and beyond getting pregnant twice.

Also, slightly related, I left my 10 year old home alone for 15 minutes yesterday because I needed to run to the grocery for mozzarella cheese to make lasagne. I brought my 6 year old with me. I was feeling bad for leaving my older son unattended for a brief time even though he's responsible and capable enough to make a phone call if he shoots a model rocket into the ceiling and sets the insulation on fire, but this article makes me feel better by association. I only pass out drunk when there's a sober adult around to sharpie my face.

This is in Florida. Trust me she had access to birth control and abortions (birth control you can get for free from planned parenthood and abortions are $300. I have to go with most of the blame being placed on her. Now if her obviously great Christian upbringing was responsible for her choices on birth control then its totally not her fault.

She's an adult, so her parents are no longer responsible for her actions.  She is aware of birth control and abortion, because she lives in the USA and speaks English and that's literally all some people with the ear of the media talk about.  Especially for the second kid, because damn right the obstetrician treating a 17-year-old's pregnancy made sure she was fully educated about BC.

The only thing you might have a point on is the fathers (assuming plural because... well, duh), and even in their case she could easily have prevented pregnancy with no cooperation from them whatsoever.  She's 20 and her eldest is 3, so she was the age of majority with respect to sexual decisions when both conceptions occurred.

So... yes, actually.  It's her fault.  She actively chose this, and I have no problem with her dealing with the consequences, such as getting whacked by the law when you fail to care responsibly for the dependent human beings you willingly brought into the world.

I mean, you can be fined or charged with buying a house for private use and then failing to maintain it, are you seriously suggesting we put the threshold of responsibility lower for  caring for human beings you created than for real estate upkeep?
