This trend of the wealthiest giving the majority of their money to charity posthumously will be the only thing that gets us out of this capitalistic aristocracy that we have found ourselves in. Good on this guy, and others like Gates and Buffett.

Fantastic. I myself was struck by a sudden urge to hear some Bell Biv Devoe.

Good for him!  And it is absolutely true.
I know a person who came from a wealthy family, and inherited lots of wealth.  He's never had to work an honest day in his life and he's as useless as tits on a tomcat.  I love the Buffet quote about leaving your kids with enough money to do anything, but not enough to be able to do nothing.
My parents are comfortable upper-middle class and have solved the potential inheritance issue by 1) living a long time - Dad is 90 and still in good health, and 2) having six kids, plus tons of grandkids... divide it by enough people and nobody gets enough to potentially screw them up.  My parents also passed along a strong work ethic, and in my mid-40s, I'm earning more than my Dad during his working career.
