brandent: I managed to only get my kids to watch 1 Hitchcock film. We watched Vertigo last fall after it was named greatest of all time. I figured it was harmless. They thought it was weirdly intense though (which it is) but I figured that was a pretty tame movie. They won't go near Psycho and honestly I can't claim to remember much about it. I saw it 20 years ago. They probably won't go near it because every time I mention his name my wife gets all "no way are you letting them watch that!" Apparently she saw "The Birds" in high school and is still afraid of birds to this day. Weird how effective his films are.
born_yesterday: fawlty: Darth_Lukecash: Hitchcock was also known to enjoy pulling the leg of anyone who interviewed him.This. Psycho was never intended to be a comedy. Just listen to the score. You don't use the dark, brooding music he used in a comedy.Actually, Benny Hill was originally going to use the Psycho score for his television show, but couldn't secure the rights. And the rest, as they say, is history.
