Betting there's a fine attached.  And court fees.  And an additional fine for not having paid the first fine for the dog she doesn't own.  And a fine for contempt of court for not acceding to the courts judgement and paying the first fine for the dog she doesn't own.

I thought that was one reason there is a statute of limitations.  Maybe she had
a horrible attitude in court and the judge found it necessary to put her in her
place or something.

She never owned the dog?  They need to charge her with false ownership of a dog!!!!  And also throw in getting arrested on false charges.  They need to put a needle into her veins now.

2013-02-08 07:39:57 AM
To be fair, she wasn't arrested for the dog ticket. She was arrested for neither paying the ticket nor showing up to court to fight it. You cannot just ignore tickets and hope they go away. The judge gave her the opportunity to pay the amount of the ticket from 11 years ago with no other penalty for the lengthy delay, but she apparently refused.

I'm going to sure her for child support.
She looks like and easy mark and apparently lives where I can get a sympathetic judge.

The statute of limitations defines how long you can wait before  charging someone with a crime.

If someone is  convicted of a crime, say, because they missed their court date, then refused to answer any of the 3141597 mailings the court sends you when you miss a court date, and were found automatically guilty in absentia because that's what happens when you repeatedly skip on hearings/trials, then there is no statute of limitations on  punishment for the crime of which they've already been  convicted.

Also, if you skip your court date and then wait  over a decade to respond, you can't protest that you're innocent, because there are time limitations on  appeals as well.  For basically the same reason, testimony and evidence becomes unreliable after a while, except since the conviction's on record the onus for doing things within time is now on the person that was convicted.  Lawyers in murder trials have to file appeals before deadlines, too, it's not restricted to small-time stuff like this.

That's information missing from the story, no mention if she got any failure to appear notices or any notifications.

Actually, doesn't even say if she was literally given the ticket 11 years a go, someone wrote one and it mentions she didn't sign it.

Refused to sign or the animal control guy never actually talked to her in the first place, just wrote a ticket.

Bad subby...  She owned the dog.  She is trying to say it wasn't her's because it was misidentified.  She had a pomerianian(sp) and not a sheit shiu(sp).  They look enough alike I couldn't tell the difference.  She was a biatch in 2001 one and didn't take care of the ticket.  Now she is arguing it wasn't her at all.  BS, and she should have shown up in court.  Maybe ashamed of her name.

Came to say this. Even if the charge is total bullshiat show up. Not showing up is an automatic admission of guilt in the eyes of the court. This all sucks for her but law is the law. Move along citizens

There's no record she received the ticket, there's no incident report, the ticket writer is gone, the neighbor's description does not match her dog.  This will get tossed.

My thought too.  I think someone else's dog wondered by and neighbor who was too bothered to get the sand out, called it in.  When the animal control came by, no dog, no one home and went by sandy crotch's story.  I think the city should be forced to prove she was ever delivered the ticket.

I was once found guilty for not showing up for jury duty.  I moved out of SC in April, in Sept. of that year they "called" me to jury duty with no notice going to my old address(my parents still lived there), they issued an arrest warrant and in Nov. my parents got the first word about any of it.  They never got any notice of jury duty or court hearings for me.  Now, am I still guilty?  I look at it as SC wants to make sure I don't return.

I am De Borah

I understand that all the information has not been given and will give them as I can prove them.

There was no warrant or failure to appear because it never went to warrant.

The dog ticket was never issued to me nor did I receive any mail concerning a dog ticket.

The violation code on the ticket is wrong because it was not issued for a dog at large.

The ticket itself makes no sense because if a dog is not at large it must be confined.

Just as important.

I NEVER owned a white shih tzu!

I thought this disgruntled neighbor may have  meant it was  my golden brown teacup pomeranium who by the way was poisoned and died.  I've served on jury duty several times and been stopped once for my tag being out for almost a month.

Not once was I ever told anything about a dog ticket!

I am a black skin person and have been called a black fkng  N**ger by this neighbors father after I told him not to speak to my daughter.
He often appears on meth or crack or some drug.
I have people of all cultures in my family but have to be realistic.  This is Oklahoma.   I wish people would stop being so mean spirited.
