There's a type of parrot in New Zealand that's notorious for stealing things. And ripping pieces off of cars.

There was a cute movie called Paulie, probably 20 years ago, that had a scene where a parrot took money from ATMs.  Can't find a screen cap nor clip.

If you've got kids, seek it out.

About a foot and a half tall, 2 lbs or so....they don't necessarily kill sheep, just swoop down on them and take a chunk out of their ass to chew on....sheep have either bled to death, died of infection to the wound later or ran off a cliff trying to escape....stupid sheep

Jesus, looking at some of those pictures, they're like the 50's street gang version of a Macaw. Harnessone of those puppies and have it pull you around the island for a couple of days.

Before humans farked it up, New Zealand had a bunch of awesome birds. Moas and the enormous farking eagles that ate 'em, for example.

I love these birds. They're the most awesome things flying today, but when animals get that smart they also get bored. And humans are such very very tempting targets. I got "harassed" by these guys while camping. They pulled the stakes out from around my tent, stole my friend's laundry, and took one (just one) shoelace out of my hiking boots.

I had a hand raised parakeet for eight years. Unlike the pet store birds, this guy was smart. He had a habit of stealing loose change. (Usually pennies or dimes due to weight limit). He would fly around the room with the coin, and then try to drop it on your head. Best pet ive ever owned including dogs. Never took cash that i know of, but i didnt have much at the time anyway. Good memories.

keas are nothing to mess with. Macaws are intelligent, African Greys can put some humans to shame, but Keas are among the top five smartest birds in the world. Even famous naturalists know enough not to mess with them.

Don't believe me?
