Teufelaffe: If it had been more reliable and had showed up a year or two earlier, that fokker could have won the war for the Germans.

Far more likely they would have lasted just long enough to get nuked.

starsrift: After seeing that trailer, I want a squad-level strategy game on this premise. Like X-Com, only this setting instead of Earf.

Bah, it's just another shooter. Let's remake the same old game a thousand times with better graphics. Pass.

That's been Nintendo's strategy for over 30 years and it's been working like a charm for them.

Teufelaffe: vygramul: GameSprocket: The AvP marine campaign damn near gave me heart problems. I could never see anything and those damn aliens move fast.

My friend's uncle was a waist-gunner on a B-17 and said that you couldn't traverse the gun fast enough to get a shot off at an ME-262.  So I sped up Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe until I couldn't traverse fast enough to shoot at them.  You don't last long doing that.

The Allies were damn lucky that the ME-262 showed up so late in the war and had engine problems.  If it had been more reliable and had showed up a year or two earlier, that fokker could have won the war for the Germans.

By what measure? It didnt have the range or the payload to affect ground operations (like either the Russian or offensives or the Normandy landings), and judging by total German aircraft production numbers for the war, their wouldnt have been enough of either them or pilots to fly them to stem the allied air campaign. They could have had a fully operational fleet of the things by 1941 and it wouldnt have changed the outcome of the war by even a month...

Ugh. The only thing worse than a grammar Nazi is a Nazi Nazi. Mr. "I can tell you exactly how the future would have been affected (or not) based on your hypothetical changes!" - get a life.
